I Need Two Days Off
My new computer had never worked right. The junk software and constant pop-up ads were driving me crazy.
I was already feeling anxious lately, so in a fit of anger, I formatted the D drive, which had "360" rogue software and another piece of malware called "Phone Emulator" installed on it. Then I discovered that my desktop files were stored on the D drive...
The rough outline I'd put together was gone. So were the materials I'd collected over the past few months for my next book, its outline, and about two hundred thousand words of the opening.
Even the four chapters of Druid I'd written in advance were gone!
When I took it in for repairs, they told me whether the solid-state drive could be fully recovered was a matter of luck!
I was completely crushed...
When you're anxious, you really shouldn't make impulsive decisions, especially in areas you don't understand.
