Chapter 46: Giving a Genius a Bad Review

Count Dracula kept a smile on his handsome face. "Then that duck must be quite remarkable."

Dressed exquisitely and carrying himself with elegance, Count Dracula was someone who could easily make a favorable impression.

Hearing the gunshots, Jessica came out of the room into the hall with the two children. Her eyes were shining as she stared at Count Dracula, the vampire overflowing with masculine charm.

Comparing him with Alvin, well... in terms of looks and fashion sense, Dracula beat Alvin by a mile. But when it came to temperament, Alvin was clearly more human, warmer. Count Dracula was simply too perfect, more like a fragile work of art—nice to look at, but nothing more. Mm... Alvin was still a little better!

Alvin gave the obviously startled Fury a profound look, then smiled and clinked glasses with Count Dracula. "Then, Count Dracula, could you tell me why you're here?"

Dracula stroked his mustache. The same gesture looked far more handsome on Dracula than it did on Stark. "I have settled in New York for the time being. Recently, I heard that the people of Hell's Kitchen are very unfriendly toward vampires, so I came to take a look. Perhaps there has been some misunderstanding."

"Vampires?" Alvin tilted his head, studying Count Dracula. "What are those? We've killed quite a few vampires lately. Are those the vampires you mean?"

Dracula drained the whiskey in his glass and shook his head with a smile. "Those you killed do not qualify as vampires. They are merely descendants developed by vampires to serve them. The servants of vampires cannot be called vampires."

Alvin gave an "Oh," looking mockingly at the vampire before him, who seemed to be putting on airs in Alvin's eyes. He said teasingly, "Then what are you doing here? Seeking justice for your livestock? Or you could name a price for them, and I'll compensate you accordingly."

Count Dracula's expression gradually turned cold. He stared at Alvin and said, "I merely wanted to see what kind of person would dare treat vampires with such complete disregard. Without even the slightest bit of reverence." As he spoke, he glanced at Director Fury, clearly including him as well.

Director Fury boldly glared with his one eye at Count Dracula. "Count, why don't you go find a coffin to lie in? Matters concerning vampires should be negotiated between your council of elders and us. Your half-blood subordinates haven't exactly been behaving themselves lately."

Count Dracula flashed a brilliant smile, looked at Director Fury, and said indifferently, "So what?" Then his left hand shot toward Alvin's throat, trying to subdue him.

Alvin sneered and kicked a switch beneath the bar. With a snap, intense light blazed from every corner of Alvin's building, inside and out.

Count Dracula screamed and staggered backward, trying to flee the restaurant. Alvin cruelly raised his modified shotgun and fired a bang straight into Count Dracula's handsome face.

The shotgun loaded with the "El" rune fired over a hundred pellets. Though it did not kill the powerful Count Dracula, it turned his face into a miserable lunar landscape. One "El"-enhanced weapon still had a little trouble dealing with this old monster. Tomorrow, he would equip JJ and Frank with +3 "El" weapons.

Already impatient, JJ grabbed an iron rod from somewhere. With the posture of a golfer, he swung it in a perfect arc. The tremendous momentum even bent the rod. While Count Dracula was reeling from the shot to the face, JJ brought the rod down between his legs with a smack~

Already in agony beneath the sun lamps, Count Dracula instantly lost his voice like a rooster with its neck caught. Then he clutched his crotch and collapsed to the floor, ignoring the smoke rising from his body under the sun lamps as he let out an ear-piercing scream.

Director Fury and Agent Coulson, watching from the side, felt a chill between their own legs and involuntarily squeezed their thighs together. JJ was far too cruel. How had they never noticed before?

The instant the sun lamps came on, Frank rushed in front of Jessica and shielded her and the two children behind him.

Alvin pulled out a pair of sunglasses, put them on, took a moment to adjust, then vaulted over the bar with one hand.

The Remington shotgun emptied its remaining five shells into Count Dracula's head.

It had to be said, this old vampire Count Dracula was truly formidable. Under the sun lamps, with his balls smashed and so many shots blasted into his head by Alvin, he was still lively enough to roll around on the floor screaming.

These sun lamps had been a gift Stark sent over yesterday. Although he had become a laughingstock on television, that genius cursed by knowledge had still come up with a complete anti-vampire plan within two days and sent a set to those he considered friends.

Count Dracula's special abilities were almost completely weakened under sunlight. He could only rely on the thick skin accumulated over the years to withstand Alvin's gunfire. That was a joke, of course. This old vampire was simply that tough—he couldn't be killed even like this.

Alvin took the iron rod from JJ and gestured for him to find some rope. Then he began swinging the rod, like a vicious loan shark's thug teaching a poor student a lesson for missing several payments on a campus loan. (Kids, don't borrow high-interest loans carelessly.) He subjected Count Dracula to five minutes of relentless, brutal beating. During that time, the iron rod bent and warped several times, but Alvin straightened it and continued beating Count Dracula.

Director Fury and Agent Coulson, who had watched the entire scene from the side, were horrified. Count Dracula was a superpowered being registered with S.H.I.E.L.D., yet Alvin had pinned him to the floor and was beating him like some street thug. Wasn't this a little too unreal?

Thor and Dom had not managed to help earlier, but now they charged in. Each wolf bit down on one of Dracula's legs and pulled with all their strength.

Seeing Count Dracula reenact Black Bear's tragedy from last week, Frank felt a little sorry for him. He grabbed a Remington from behind the bar and fired several shots into the count's head. But if you still wouldn't die, there was nothing he could do.

JJ found a length of parachute cord and, like a seasoned kidnapper, tied Count Dracula into a dumpling. With his head beaten into a bloody mess, Count Dracula was too weak to resist and could only let him do as he pleased.

Alvin looked at Count Dracula lying on the ground beneath the harsh rays of the sun lamps. Smoke only rose from his body, and his skin was merely slightly dry and cracked. His heart sank a little. Marvel's geniuses weren't reliable either! He called Stark and gave his vampire control system a bad review.

Stark, awakened by the call, flew into a rage and cursed. "Impossible!" He told Alvin to wait; he was coming right over to see this vampire that couldn't be burned to death by sunlight.

Alvin switched off some of the sun lamps in the shop, leaving only several pointed at Count Dracula. Too much exposure to those lamps could easily cause skin cancer, and they consumed a lot of electricity. Better leave them for Count Dracula to enjoy!
