It had been two days since Stark's yacht had stopped at the spot where the World Heart cruise ship had sunk.
Alvin surfaced with two giant octopuses he'd caught from the seabed, then deftly swung himself onto the yacht's swim platform.
Ginny, wearing a tank top and shorts, came scampering over with a little plastic bucket, eager to take her dad's catch.
She glanced at the giant octopuses writhing in the bucket, wrinkled her little nose, and said "menacingly," "We're going to eat you very soon..."
Alvin chuckled and pinched the little girl's cheek. "It's three in the afternoon. We still have a while before dinner..."
Ginny looked at Alvin and let out an exaggerated sigh. "Well, fine. I guess I'll go ride the shark instead..."
Alvin nearly laughed in exasperation at the mischievous little rascal. What did she mean, "go ride the shark instead"?
Compared to Megalodon's enormous size—over twenty meters long—this little girl was no bigger than a sausage.
Alvin scooped Ginny into his arms and smacked her little bottom twice. "Until Frank and Carter Black confirm it's safe, none of you are getting on that shark's back.
"Why don't you go play with that family of orcas instead?"
As he spoke, Alvin watched Ginny fiddling with her fingers and narrowed his eyes. "Who came up with the idea of riding the shark? Tell me, and I'll treat you to the best grilled squid tonight!"
Ginny nervously bit her finger and struggled with herself for a moment. Then she stood up in Alvin's arms and cried out loyally, "I absolutely won't betray Nick, not even for grilled squid... Ah~ I'm doomed!"
With that, Ginny turned and ran, shouting as she went, "Nick, we're doomed! Dad's going to beat you up..."
Alvin watched the lively little girl run off
