Chapter Summaries

Yi Xiu, the legendary Cangzhou Spear King, appeared with the orthodox cultivators to confront Liu Zonglin and the Demonic Path group. Though Liu and Yue believed Yi Xiu was too old to risk a real fight, he revealed exactly how little time he had left and prepared to wield Wrathful Sun.

• Kou Guan taunted the orthodox cultivators and singled out Bian Hongyao, but stopped when he noticed the others staring behind him.
• The orthodox cultivators revealed Yi Nanping and the white-haired Yi Xiu, whom they respectfully welcomed as Martial Uncle Yi.
• Yue Lingsong recognized Wrathful Sun and identified Yi Xiu as the legendary Cangzhou Spear King, startling him and Liu Zonglin.
• Liu Zonglin and Yue Lingsong regained their confidence by arguing that Yi Xiu's advanced age and dwindling lifespan made him unlikely to fight.
• Yi Xiu took up Wrathful Sun, released overwhelming astral force, and declared that he had eight years, four months, and twenty-one days left before fixing the demonic cultivators with a murderous gaze.

Yi Xiu unleashed his crimson cry spear essence and pursued Liu Zonglin, while the Baleful Yin Sect’s fighters scattered and Yue Lingsong was left to face three righteous-path experts. After Yue Lingsong defeated their combined attack, he turned and saw the source of their alarm behind him.

• Yi Xiu revealed his perfected heavenly dipper realm and struck at the fleeing Liu Zonglin with his spear essence, shattering Kou Guan’s left arm along the way.
• Liu Zonglin blocked the spear with a spirit-artifact bone shield but was injured and continued fleeing as Yi Xiu pursued him.
• Yue Lingsong, Nie Chen, and the other Baleful Yin Sect fighters fled, while Bian Hu, Feng Buxing, and Xu Zhouling chased Yue Lingsong.
• Yue Lingsong turned to fight and used the Seventy-Two White Bone Netherworld Sword to break the three inner astral force experts’ combined attack.
• Yue Lingsong noticed the three pursuers staring behind him and turned around, his pupils contracting in shock.

Liang Guhong and the other pursuers confronted fleeing members of the Baleful Yin Sect across several battles. The chapter left Kou Guan blocked by Cui Hongxue while Wen Qingye and Lei Xiao fought Nie Chen.

• Liang Guhong appeared behind Yue Lingsong and drew the Long Goose Sword to confront him.
• Feng Buting and Shen Cang caught up with Bao Yuanxiu and Yu Ci, who turned to fight them with their Purple Rosy Cloud Primordial Palm.
• Bian Hongyao and Yi Nanping pursued the wounded Kou Guan until he stopped before Cui Hongxue of the Cui Clan of Xinyi.
• Lei Xiao clashed with Nie Chen, and Wen Qingye joined the fight with a sword strike that forced Nie Chen to evade.
• Shen Xiuhan arrived and recognized the fleeing black-robed man as Nie Chen, a protector of the Baleful Yin Sect.

Shen Xiuhan hid while Wen Qingye and Lei Xiao fought Nie Chen, who escaped underground using an earth-based technique. Shen Xiuhan unleashed the Winterdark Frostfire to force Nie Chen back above ground, leaving the fiend struggling against the strange flames.

• Shen Xiuhan recognized Nie Chen and concealed himself while Wen Qingye and Lei Xiao attacked the old fiend.
• Wen Qingye's Flying Waterfall Sword Essence damaged Nie Chen's defenses, but Nie Chen used the Earth Spirit Burrowing Method to flee underground.
• Lei Xiao hurled his Thunder Yama spear at Nie Chen, but Nie Chen dodged it and raced toward the high slope.
• Wen Qingye spotted Shen Xiuhan on the slope and realized he might try to stop Nie Chen.

• Nie Chen resisted the frostfire with astral force and looked toward Shen Xiuhan, demanding to know who had attacked him.

Shen Xiuhan used the Blood Shadow Soul Chaser Needles to break through Nie Chen’s defenses, allowing Wen Qingye and Lei Xiao to kill him. Afterward, Shen Xiuhan reflected that he had finally avenged his master’s great vendetta.

• Nie Chen attacked Shen Xiuhan, but turned to fight Wen Qingye when the swordsman intervened.
• Shen Xiuhan survived Nie Chen’s palm strike with the Vajra Wisdom King Technique and five-colored talisman shields, then attacked with Gold Coin Darts.
• Shen Xiuhan sent nine Blood Shadow Soul Chaser Needles after the darts, and they pierced Nie Chen’s protective astral energy and poisoned him.
• Wen Qingye slashed Nie Chen’s neck, and Lei Xiao pinned him to an ancient pine with his spear.
• Wen Qingye cleaved Nie Chen and the pine in two, killing the Baleful Yin Sect protector.
