"Extreme Yin, look, what's that?" Ying Wu raised a hand and pointed at the pitch-black waves below, his voice carrying a hint of delight.
By the brilliant flash of a lightning strike, Song Wen looked in the direction Ying Wu indicated.
A demonic beast was bobbing up and down with the waves.
Its body was slender like a leopard's, over a zhang long, yet completely hairless. Its smooth, dark-black hide was covered in silvery-white mysterious patterns.
A pair of wings grew from its back.
But submerged in the water, the wings remained folded against its back rather than spread.
Because of the falling lightning, silver arcs of electricity darted through the black water.
The mysterious patterns on the beast's body flickered between bright and dim as they absorbed the surrounding lightning.
It was not particularly powerful, merely at the late fourth rank. Unable to withstand the direct bombardment of the falling lightning, it had no choice but to keep dodging left and right.
This demonic beast was precisely the Thunder Hou Song Wen had been searching for.
"What a pity, it's only a fourth-rank cub. Still, the Thunder Hou truly is extraordinary. With only fourth-rank strength, it can dwell here year-round. Even you and I would find it difficult to do that. If Nascent Soul Realm cultivators of the human race came here instead, they would likely have been blasted until not even dregs remained." Ying Wu said.
Unlike Ying Wu's slight disappointment, Song Wen's eyes gleamed with delight, a smile on his face.
"A cub is good. With the cub, we won't have to worry about failing to catch the other two adults."
The wings on Song Wen's back beat once, and he instantly dived downward.
After evading two lightning strikes, Song Wen was only several dozen zhang away
