"Who was it?" Song Wen asked.
"Zheng Liyan," Wang Qiuyue said.
The old face of Zheng Liyan immediately flashed through Song Wen's mind, forever wearing that shrewd, mercenary smile.
"Him!" There was a hint of surprise in Song Wen's voice. "Why is he paying such a high price for a seventh-tier Void Demon?"
Wang Qiuyue pursed her lips.
"Well... I have no idea."
Song Wen did not pursue the question, but offered a warning instead.
"By the way, Fellow Daoist Wang, the Void Demons in the Source-Qi Death Domain have inexplicably gone on a rampage. You would do best to stay away for the time being."
Wang Qiuyue nodded slightly to show that she understood.
Then, as though something had occurred to her, she said,
"Extreme Yin, I have another urgent matter to attend to. Let's catch up another time."
With that, she cupped her hands in farewell, turned, and left.
Watching Wang Qiuyue's retreating figure, Song Wen decided to head straight to the Zheng Clan at Hundred-Forging Ridge to complete his transaction with Zheng Liyan.
Although 1.8 million superior spirit stones was not a tremendous sum, it would be enough to ease his current predicament of empty pockets.
By the time he reached the Zheng Clan's gates, it was past five in the afternoon, and the sun had begun sinking toward the west.
After explaining his purpose, Song Wen was once again invited into the lavish hall outside the gates.
He had barely settled into a seat in the tearoom when Zheng Liyan walked in, wearing a warm smile.
"Fellow Daoist Xing Chang, what brings you here this time?"
"To fulfill our agreement, of course," Song Wen said.
Zheng Liyan froze briefly.
"Truly? You have returned in triumph after just over two months?"
Without saying anything more, Song Wen
