Golden Gate Bridge.
The two monsters battled back and forth across the bridge, terrifying the vehicles along the road into crashing into one another. Some unlucky people fell off the bridge along with their cars and plunged into the sea.
One wave swept over them, and even the bodies could not be found.
Countless terrified San Francisco residents got out of their cars, screaming for help as they ran for their lives.
At the end of the bridge, some fearless people held up their phones and filmed wildly.
The internet-addicted youth felt as though he had stepped into a fantasy world, watching two monsters from a video game slaughter each other in a frenzy.
He did not care in the slightest that danger was closing in step by step.
He thought he was far enough away!
"This video will definitely get over a hundred million views once I upload it!!"
The internet-addicted youth was thrilled, as if he had already become a video blogger with tens of millions of followers, married a beautiful rich woman, and reached the pinnacle of life.
Boom!
Suddenly, the two monsters fought their way from the middle of the bridge to its end.
The internet-addicted youth panicked.
"Run!"
Someone shouted at him.
But his legs went weak. Every fantasy in his mind vanished, leaving behind nothing but regret.
Boom! Boom!!
Just as the two monsters were about to reach the bridgehead and tear him, the obstacle in their path, to pieces—
A sleek, jet-black car came speeding through the distant sky.
It was really flying!
"What is that? A flying car?"
"Oh my God, there's someone standing on the hood, and someone inside!"
"Wait, that guy looks kind of familiar!"
A group of temporarily safe bystanders stared fixedly at the car flying through the air, their gazes locked onto the man standing on its hood, his cape fluttering behind him like a flag.
"Batman!"
Someone quickly recognized him.
Recently, topics about Batman had frequently topped the trending searches, even driving up the Daily Bugle's market value.
With such enormous influence, Batman's fame was no less than that of an internet celebrity.
He even rivaled quite a few Hollywood stars!
After all, there were very few people present who did not use the internet. Most people followed trending topics online, so of course they knew Batman.
In fact, many people present still had that wildly circulated photo on their phones—the one where he looked impossibly cool.
"Batman came to help us!"
"It really is Batman!"
At the end of the Golden Gate Bridge, the internet-addicted youth was overjoyed. He felt that he was saved.
"Save me! Batman, I'm your fan!"
"I'm over here!"
He shouted at the top of his lungs.
But while he caught Batman's attention, he also drew the devastating attack of the two monsters.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
The two monsters ripped the railings from the side of the bridge, casually crushed the steel bars into twisted spirals in their palms, and hurled them at each other.
As they dodged left and right, the railings shot straight toward the internet-addicted youth.
"Shit!!"
The internet-addicted youth had no time to run. His eyes widened in fury as he watched the iron railing hurtle toward him, as though its sharp end would pierce straight through his body the next second.
"Oh no!"
"God bless him!"
Seeing this, the distant bystanders clenched their fists. Their backs went cold, and they watched in unbearable tension.
Some closed their eyes, terrified of witnessing the bloody scene.
At that moment, the internet-addicted youth did not notice the powerful gust sweeping down from above.
When the railing was less than a meter away, and the wind it tore through the air made his face sting faintly, a black figure descended from the sky like a meteor.
Boom!!
The black figure landed squarely on the railing and stomped it straight into the bridge.
The huge blast of wind and flying stone chips struck the internet-addicted youth in the face, but he barely noticed. All he felt was the relief and ecstasy of surviving a disaster.
He stared at Batman before him, cape billowing, trembling all over with excitement.
"Y-you-you-you... Batman, you saved me!"
The internet-addicted youth was incoherent.
He gripped his phone tightly, still filming even now. He felt so happy that he might faint.
"Leave this place."
Anton gave him an indifferent glance, then withdrew his gaze and looked toward the two symbiotes still locked in a fierce battle nearby.
Venom was completely being beaten down by Riot, unable to fight back at all.
Just as Venom had said, Riot was stronger than him in combat. The situation was extremely dire.
Ignoring the internet-addicted youth, who still seemed to want to say something, Anton stomped down and sprinted toward the two symbiotes.
The Batmobile above him remained airborne, moving along with him.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Moving swiftly, Anton entered the battle zone.
"Hm?"
Riot noticed someone interfering and spoke with utter arrogance. "Another little shrimp?"
"A little shrimp?"
Venom sneered inwardly.
Batman's arrival meant he had brought weapons with immense destructive power.
Those weapons were fatal to symbiotes.
"A little shrimp?"
Anton heard that too. Beneath his helmet, his exposed lips curved into a cold smile.
He raised a hand slightly. The underside of the Batmobile above him opened.
Two weapons suddenly dropped down.
"Venom, hold this guy down. Don't let him run."
Anton spoke calmly.
"Of course."
Venom immediately agreed.
"Run?"
Riot flew into a rage and let out a roar. "You think you can make me run away? Little runt, I'll eat you bit by bit."
"Oh, we'll see."
Anton replied calmly, stomped down, and leaped into the air to catch the falling weapons.
At the same time, Drake inside Riot seemed to communicate with it. Realizing that Venom and the others had a sure-fire weapon, they ignored Venom's attacks and charged straight at Anton.
"Batman, be careful!"
Seeing that he could not stop Riot, Venom hurriedly warned him.
"Hmph."
Anton had already obtained the weapon. Without hesitation, he activated the sonic device. A sound between 4,000 and 6,000 hertz exploded in the air.
"Aaaaargh!!"
Riot instantly lost all strength and collapsed to the ground, rolling around wildly. Its body suddenly boiled like scalding water, looking exactly like Sun Wukong when the Tightening Spell was recited.
Venom, not far away, was also in considerable pain.
Then Anton twisted at the waist and activated the flamethrower. The temperature, exceeding a thousand degrees, was enough to make one's scalp crawl.
Even from more than ten meters away, Venom felt every part of his body letting out painful groans, much less Riot, who faced the flames directly.
"You look like you're about done for!"
Anton sneered at Riot, sprawled on the ground. He had no intention of stopping, taunting it mercilessly in a sarcastic tone. "Just this? Is that all symbiotes can do? You said you were going to eat me, so why aren't you keeping your word? Seeing how confident you were, I thought we could fight until the next chapter. Turns out you're already done in half a chapter. What a disappointment!"
Eddie, inside Venom, felt his teeth ache from listening.
No wonder Anton and Tony Stark could become friends—with quotation marks around the word.
In some ways, those two were truly awful.
All of this was recorded by the internet-addicted youth Anton had just saved.
It was not that he did not want to leave. His legs had gone completely numb, and they kept shaking from tension and fear. He could not move even if he wanted to.
If I make it out alive this time and don't become famous, then there is no justice in heaven!
The internet-addicted youth had that thought.
Soon.
He watched as the monster before him withered like a flower beneath the searing flames, and a human body peeled away from the monster's form.
As a San Francisco resident, he was very familiar with this person. His eyes widened, his face filled with shock.
Carlton Drake!
The founder of the Life Foundation!
It was him!
That monster was actually him!
