"Who?"
A terrifyingly stern expression appeared on Kingpin's naturally imposing face, enough to make children cry. In a low voice, he said, "Who? Who dares cause trouble on my turf? Has Daredevil come looking for me?"
"No. His appearance has changed somewhat, but it should be Batman!" Bullseye shook his head.
"The guy who tore up the Continental Hotel?" Kingpin asked.
"Yes."
Bullseye nodded and advised, "He'll break in soon. It isn't safe here anymore. I think you should leave first. Boss, you're a successful businessman now. It wouldn't be appropriate for you to show up here."
"I'll wait for you in the car."
Kingpin said to Bullseye, "Deal with him as quickly as possible."
"No problem."
Bullseye revealed a cruel smile.
"Let's go, Mr. Sloan." Kingpin turned to the Black man beside him. "We'll wait in the car for good news."
"Of course."
Sloan smiled and agreed with Kingpin.
At that moment, he still had no idea that Batman's appearance was not meant to target Kingpin at all, but him.
Elsewhere.
Rabbit Armor had gone "wild" with slaughter.
One armed thug after another was sent flying by Rabbit Armor's blows, while the guns in their hands were completely ineffective against it.
Only heavy weapons could damage Rabbit Armor's exceptionally sturdy shell.
Unfortunately, Hell's Kitchen's heavy weapons were all stored in other warehouses.
By the time they retrieved the weapons and brought them to the battlefield, Rabbit Armor would have beaten these people several times over.
"Switch weapons! Armor-piercing rounds!"
Someone shouted, "Load armor-piercing rounds!"
They recognized their disadvantage and rushed into the armory, preparing to switch to more destructive weapons.
But it was already too late.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Under Anton's control, Rabbit Armor charged through the area, knocking down more than a hundred thugs.
Using the shadows and its powerful metal fists, Rabbit Armor moved as though no one stood in its way. The damage its opponents inflicted on it was negligible.
Whoosh!
Suddenly, a sharp dart came flying from afar.
Hiss! Hiss!
The dart pierced the connection points between Rabbit Armor's limbs and body, embedding itself deeply.
Boom!
The dart exploded the next second.
Rabbit Armor swayed slightly and appeared unharmed, but Anton, far away in Los Angeles, saw a notification.
[Rabbit Armor: Durability decreased by 3%, damage rate 5%]
The dart's explosion had damaged Rabbit Armor.
Though the damage rate was extremely low and had no effect on the battle, it showed that whoever had thrown the dart was no longer one of the simple rabble Anton had been facing.
"Oh?"
Through Rabbit Armor's eyes, Anton saw the bald man who had thrown the dart.
The target tattoo on the man's forehead alone revealed his identity.
Bullseye!
"Kingpin really is mixed up with the Brotherhood."
Anton was not surprised.
He had just tortured the relevant information out of Brotherhood members he had dealt with at the Empire State Building. This merely confirmed it.
Without any panic, Rabbit Armor leaped into the air.
Its heavy body displayed astonishing agility as it launched itself at Bullseye.
Naturally, Bullseye was not foolish enough to clash head-on with Rabbit Armor. Though he was a capable fighter, he knew perfectly well that compared to the metal monster before him, his advantage lay in his godlike dart-throwing skills.
He fired dart after dart with both hands.
Yet his body rapidly retreated, with no intention whatsoever of engaging Rabbit Armor in close combat.
Then his pupils shrank.
Boom!
The cannon barrel on Rabbit Armor's shoulder erupted in flame. A powerful shell shot from the barrel, trailing dazzling fire as it landed near Bullseye.
A thunderous roar, like a meteor striking the ground, resounded.
The blast wave kicked up visible ripples through the air, spreading in every direction.
Bullseye was swept up by the enormous shockwave, unable to keep his balance, and slammed heavily into a nearby wall.
Gray smoke rose.
Whoosh!
In an instant, a terrifying sound tore through the smoke. A fist at least twice the size of a casserole dish smashed brutally into Bullseye's chest.
"Pfft!"
Bullseye involuntarily crashed through the wall behind him and was buried beneath bricks and rubble.
His condition was terrible.
His eyes widened as he spat out hot blood, never expecting to lose so quickly.
"Boss Bullseye!"
As the smoke quickly thinned, the nearby thugs were horrified by the sight.
"Pah!"
Bullseye spat out a mouthful of bloody phlegm and forced himself up from the collapsed rubble. He stared coldly at Rabbit Armor before him, darts clamped between his fingertips. Taking advantage of their close distance, he thrust them hard toward Rabbit Armor's joints, intending to use the same trick again.
Click, click!
But the moment he moved, his expression changed drastically.
All of Rabbit Armor's shoulder-mounted rocket launchers turned and aimed at Bullseye.
At this sight, even the surrounding thugs held their breaths and stopped moving in to help. They were afraid of getting too close, and even more afraid of provoking the fierce man in metal armor.
Heavy weapons like rocket launchers were not toys for playing around.
The earlier rocket explosion had occurred relatively far from the crowd. Under Anton's precise control, no one had died.
Those people had assumed they were simply lucky.
But now, at this critical moment, they did not dare leave their lives to luck.
Seeing Bullseye's entire body stiffen, a disdainful snort came from Rabbit Armor's voice amplifier.
Bang!
It knocked the man unconscious with one punch, grabbed the unconscious Bullseye, and swiftly rushed into the stairwell.
Using infrared scanning, Anton barely paused before immediately locating a hidden room.
But the room was empty.
He punched through the passage concealed within the room's wall and gave chase once more.
Hell's Kitchen.
Outskirts.
A pitch-black bulletproof luxury car was parked on the road.
The car was several sizes larger than an ordinary vehicle and looked custom-made, fully displaying its owner's status and identity.
Kingpin's enormous body fit perfectly inside it.
Beside him, Sloan, who had a normal build and looked somewhat hunched due to his age, felt as though he were sitting in a small room.
"Mr. Fisk, I don't believe I've ever heard of any grudge between you and Batman."
Suddenly, Sloan broke the silence inside the car.
"Don't the newspapers call him a superhero?"
Kingpin's expression remained calm. His heart was strong enough that he never cared if anyone hated him, and naturally, he did not care if anyone targeted him.
In fact, assassination and being assassinated were things he experienced every day.
He said, "There are many who want to be heroes, and even more people I've offended. So it doesn't matter what grudge he has against me. What matters is that he will soon become an unwilling ghost beneath my vast empire."
Boom!
The moment he finished speaking, a figure descended from the sky and landed heavily on the hood of the luxury car, which was several sizes larger than an ordinary vehicle.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
The hood immediately caved in beneath the figure's foot.
However, the car had cost a fortune and was protected with bulletproof measures. The massive force from above did not cause any significant damage to its overall frame.
Kingpin and Sloan shook along with the car. Staring at the figure before the windshield, both their faces darkened terribly.
"Batman!"
Kingpin forced the words through clenched teeth, his fists tightening.
Of course, the car was not only bulletproof, but soundproof as well.
Fortunately, Anton understood lip-reading. Seeing the huge man muttering his name, he waved at him and offered a far from friendly greeting.
Then he tossed Bullseye aside and leaped into the air again.
In midair, the cannon barrel on his shoulder adjusted its angle and aimed at the luxury car's windshield as flames burst forth.
