I Actually Became Vision?!

"Where am I?"

Li Nian's consciousness slowly awakened.

"Why can't I move my body at all...?"

Li Nian was an ordinary man from Blue Planet, a seasoned shut-in. What he loved most was staying home and rewatching Marvel movies over and over on his 4K big screen. Every time, he got so excited he could barely contain himself, wishing he could enter that world himself.

"Charge! Beat that purple sweet potato to a pulp!"

With popcorn in his mouth, Li Nian stood excitedly on his leather chair, shouting indistinctly as he cheered for the Avengers.

"If I could become an Avenger, I definitely wouldn't be a useless teammate like Star-Lord."

Li Nian grumbled inwardly, his eyes never leaving the screen for even a second.

Rumble—!

"Is it thunder outside?"

Li Nian frowned, reluctantly pausing the movie before getting up to close the window.

"This weather... It was sunny just a moment ago..."

Li Nian kept complaining as he turned to look at the Marvel figurines in his glass display case. He couldn't help feeling proud. They were the results of years of collecting, and some had even gone out of print on the market. They were truly impossible to find!

Li Nian gently picked up a Vision figurine and carefully stroked the strange man with red and green skin. "Look at you. You were so powerful when you first appeared, so why were you so weak by the time of Infinity War...?"

With a face full of regret, he looked at the Vision in his hand and raised it high.

Rumble—!

Thunder abruptly boomed.

The sudden deafening crash startled Li Nian into loosening his grip on Vision, letting it fall to the floor.

"Ah! My Vision! My limited-edition figurine!"

Li Nian dropped to his knees, holding Vision's body, now shattered into eight pieces. Grief welled up within him, and a few tears slid from the corners of his eyes. Pointing furiously at the sky, he shouted.

"You thieving heavens, if you've got the guts, come at me! What kind of skill is it to smash my figurine...?"

Rumble—!

Before Li Nian could finish, a bolt of white lightning shot straight toward him and struck the man without hesitation.

"Argh!"

His scream instantly echoed throughout the entire building.

"This framework isn't compatible."

"The gene dataset is at 97%, so you have to upload that schematic within three minutes..."

Someone was speaking. Doctors?

Li Nian's consciousness gradually awakened. He could feel that he seemed to be lying inside a coffin-shaped container, so cramped that there was no room to move.

"What happened to me? I remember getting struck by lightning. Don't tell me I've become a vegetable?!"

Li Nian thought miserably. He remembered reading a story about someone who had lain in bed for over twenty years. He could clearly sense everything around him, but he couldn't speak or move. He lay there silently for twenty years, until one day someone discovered that he was actually conscious. In the end, he wrote in that person's palm, "I want to die."

Yeah. Who would want to lie alone in bed for twenty years, with no one to talk to, no one caring about them, no entertainment of any kind, spending their days like they were dead?

Li Nian was now completely conscious, yet unable to move his body. He was exactly like that poor guy.

"Am I going to have to lie in bed for twenty years before anyone realizes I'm conscious too?"

He thought miserably, unable to accept that reality.

"You don't know what you're doing..."

"What about you? She hasn't controlled you, has she?"

Suddenly, Li Nian felt as though arguing voices had reached his ears. But why did they sound so familiar? It was as though he had heard them somewhere before.

Just as several people were arguing, Li Nian suddenly felt as if something had been removed from his body.

Then came a gunshot and the sound of shattering glass.

"Gunshots? Why would there be gunshots in a hospital?"

Li Nian thought in terror. Could it be that he had been asleep for a long time, and had now been sent abroad for treatment?

"Don't tell me I've had the bad luck to run into some brain-dead robber holding up a hospital?"

"Pietro!"

At that moment, a woman's scream entered his ears.

"Pietro? That female voice sounds so familiar. It sounds like a voice from a movie. No way, is someone playing a movie in the hospital?"

Li Nian thought blankly. Then, suddenly, he felt that his fingers could move.

"Hey! I'm better!"

He thought in delight, but made no further movement.

Suddenly, a violent torrent of information surged into Li Nian's brain with unstoppable force, nearly causing his mind to shut down in an instant.

He stared in horror at the scenes in his mind. Countless nuclear weapons rose into the sky, scattering across the world. In almost an instant, all life on Earth was devastated. Hundreds of millions of lives perished before his eyes—animals, plants, and humans alike...

The entire world entered a nuclear winter, devoid of even the slightest trace of life.

A fierce current of heat seemed to course through Li Nian's entire body, so pleasant that he couldn't help groaning, though no sound came out.

A dazzling white light seeped through his tightly shut eyelids. Accompanied by sharp crackling currents, it was as if countless bolts of lightning converged upon him and poured into his body.

Thor stared nervously at the incubation chamber before him. Inside, that strange-looking robot lay silently.

The glass lid of the incubation chamber suddenly shattered. The figure inside abruptly shot out, sending Thor flying and crashing heavily to the ground.

The strange man stood atop the incubation chamber in an odd posture. His metallic body crouched halfway before the others, while the yellow gemstone on his forehead gleamed brilliantly, giving him an unfathomable and mysterious aura.

Everyone watched the suddenly appearing strange man warily, while he too examined them.

Then his gaze settled on Thor. It was as though he had seen something exciting, and he suddenly pounced toward him.

"Hm?!"

Thor watched the strange man rushing toward him vigilantly. With a sudden exertion of both hands, he flung him away. The strange man smashed through the laboratory glass and stopped before the building's windows.

Captain America leaped behind the strange man, but Thor stopped him, signaling for him not to act rashly.

In an eerie silence, everyone watched what happened next, while all of them secretly remained on guard. At the slightest misstep, they would immediately be ready to strike.

Li Nian stared blankly at his unfamiliar reflection in the glass. The ugly red-and-green color scheme, the metallic sheen of the patterns, even the flashing yellow gemstone on his forehead—none of it caught his attention.

He lightly touched the glass, a trace of confusion in his eyes. Three voices alternated inside his head, eventually merging into one indifferent voice.

He spoke.

"I... Vision!"
