Above the Imperial Hall, Xi Emperor was brimming with satisfaction. He had the old map on the desk removed and replaced with a new one. On it, the Central Domain had already turned entirely crimson.
The army sent to subdue the Assistant Elder had been progressing with extraordinary smoothness. He had originally thought that, with the Lie King backing him, this opponent would be a tough bone to chew. He had even prepared himself for several years of bitter fighting.
Yet the result was beyond expectation. The Assistant Elder had not received much support from the Upper Layer forces and could only rely on the remaining Creation Refiners in his hands to oppose him. After several devastating defeats, as the Creation Refiners under his command were depleted, he could no longer field much strength. Thus, wherever the army advanced afterward, resistance was voluntarily abandoned.
The Assistant Elder could now only lead the remnants of his flying-ship fleet and retreat into the Lie King's territory.
Xi Emperor had no intention of pursuing further. He was not yet ready to go to war with the Lie King, but that day would not be far off.
The power he now commanded far surpassed what he had possessed before. Once he completely took the Central Domain, it would mean fully taking over all its Creation Factories, land, and population. He could then use these resources to manufacture armor, flying ships, Ring Halls, and all manner of war creations on a large scale, preparing for the northern campaign.
Although the Assistant Elder had forcibly taken away all the highly skilled Creation Masters when evacuating his fleet, the Creation Masters of Yang Capital had always been among the finest. Since those people were all under his command, he did not care about this minor loss elsewhere.
