"Pops, Marco."
"The Space-Time Door can be opened now."
That single sentence struck Marco's mind like a thunderclap!
He suddenly looked up, staring fixedly at Chen Ye. Those eyes, always half-lidded with drowsiness, now blazed with excitement and shock!
"You... what did you say?"
The Space-Time Door could be opened now?
Beside him, Whitebeard's laughter cut off abruptly.
His eyes, brimming with Emperor's Haki, burst forth with unprecedented intensity, locking onto Chen Ye.
He could sense it—Chen Ye wasn't joking.
This kid meant what he said!
"When?"
Chen Ye grinned.
"Now."
"Anytime."
Whitebeard's aura surged at the words, as if he was about to move the next second.
"Then what are we waiting for? We'll—"
"Wait, Pops!"
Marco finally wrenched himself free from shock, stepping in front of Whitebeard with a face full of urgency.
"No! Not now!"
Whitebeard frowned, displeased. "Why not?"
Marco broke into a cold sweat, explaining rapidly: "It's too conspicuous! Everyone on the Moby Dick saw the fight between you and Chen Ye just now!"
"The whole crew's been woken up!"
"If we just vanish in front of everyone right now, word will definitely leak out!
If the Marines catch wind of it, they'll tighten security on Ace, maybe even move up the execution!"
Marco's words doused Whitebeard's fiery excitement like a bucket of cold water.
He fell silent.
He knew Marco was right.
Saving Ace came first. Any risk that could derail the plan had to be eliminated.
Chen Ye nodded in agreement. "Commander Marco has a point. The fewer people who know about this, the better."
Whitebeard pondered for a moment, then looked at Marco. "So what do you suggest?"
Marco took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down as his mind raced.
Soon, he offered a plan.
"Wait!"
"Wait until late night, when everyone on the ship is asleep. Then we'll slip away quietly and regroup here!"
"That way, no one will notice a thing—completely under the radar!"
Whitebeard's tightly knit brow finally relaxed.
"Gurararara... Good idea!"
Chen Ye agreed. "Let's do it."
With the consensus reached, they didn't linger.
Whitebeard and Chen Ye used Geppo, while Marco transformed into a Phoenix. The three swiftly returned to the Moby Dick, which was anchored silently in the distance.
When they landed back on the ship, the deck was packed.
All the division commanders and every crew member had gathered, their faces still etched with lingering fear as they stared toward the distant ruins of the deserted island.
When they saw Whitebeard, Marco, and Chen Ye return unharmed, everyone let out a long sigh of relief.
But then, deeper confusion and shock washed over them.
Especially when their gazes fell on Chen Ye.
They could sense it—Chen Ye was... different.
They couldn't pinpoint exactly what had changed, but they felt that this newcomer now carried a terrifying aura that made even their hearts shudder.
"Pops, what was that between you and Chen Ye just now?" Diamond Jozu stepped forward, his voice gruff.
Whitebeard waved a hand, cutting him off, his voice booming across the entire ship.
"Nothing. I just got an itch to spar and gave our new son some pointers!"
"All of you, get the hell back to bed!"
"We've got a long way to travel tomorrow!"
His words were domineering and brooked no argument.
Though everyone felt that the scale of this "guidance" was far too grand, since Pops had spoken, they dared not ask further. Carrying a belly full of doubts, they dispersed one by one.
On the deck, silence quickly returned.
Late night.
The sea breeze was cool, the moonlight like water.
Aboard the Moby Dick, most of the crew had already fallen asleep, with only a few night watchmen patrolling the deck.
Three figures, like phantoms, silently left the great ship and flew toward the distant ruins of the desolate island where the day's battle had taken place.
They were Whitebeard, Marco, and Chen Ye.
The three landed once more on the reef that had been utterly devastated.
This time, there were no unnecessary words.
Whitebeard and Marco's gazes simultaneously fixed on Chen Ye, their eyes filled with unprecedented gravity and anticipation.
Meeting their stares, Chen Ye took a deep breath.
He closed his eyes and, in his mind, issued the command to the system that was enough to reshape the world's order.
"System!"
"Open the Space-Time Door!"
"Target: Edward Newgate, Peak Period!"
The next second.
A cold, mechanical prompt echoed in his mind!
"SSR Whitebeard analysis 100% complete, traversal conditions met."
"Space-Time Beacon locking..."
"Lock complete! Target era: The period when Peak Whitebeard and Roger vied for the Pirate King!"
"Space-Time Door... opening!"
Boom—!
An indescribably ancient and vast aura materialized out of thin air!
Before Chen Ye, Whitebeard, and Marco, the calm night sky suddenly seemed to be torn open by an invisible giant hand!
Golden light seeped through the rift!
The light grew brighter, twisting, spiraling, and intertwining!
Finally, under the trio's stunned gaze, a magnificent gate composed of pure golden light, accompanied by a low rumble, coalesced into form, standing before them!
The gate bore no intricate patterns; it appeared to be a simple door radiating golden light. Yet all three could feel that this seemingly ordinary gate exuded a temporal aura not of this era.
And on the other side of the gate was no longer the midnight ocean.
But a sunny, daytime world of azure blue!
Sunlight blazed, seagulls soared, and the air was thick with the scent of freedom and adventure!
Whitebeard stared fixedly at the scene beyond the gate, his weathered eyes flickering with an indescribably complex nostalgia.
He could feel it!
That was his era!
An age teeming with strong ones, where heroes rose in multitudes, and the sea was not yet bound by the order of today—a true Legendary Era!
He could even sense, on that sea, the flavors of Roger, of Golden Lion, of those old friends and old rivals!
"Gurararara..."
Whitebeard let out a low laugh. He turned to glance at Chen Ye and Marco.
Then, without any further hesitation, he took a massive stride and stepped first through the golden Space-Time Door!
His figure vanished the moment it passed through the Light Gate.
Marco stared at the magnificent gate, then at Chen Ye beside him, swallowing hard, feeling as if his heart might leap out of his throat.
Chen Ye smiled at him.
"Let's go, Brother Marco."
"Time to revisit... the true Legendary Era."
With that, he too stepped forward and followed.
Marco gritted his teeth, transformed into a Phoenix, and plunged headlong into the golden light right behind him!
