A monkey in a tattered cloth robe, with bare feet, walked out of the teleportation array looking rather down-and-out. Leaving the teleportation hall, he looked out at the world beyond its doors.
Watching the bustling, prosperous world, with crowds flowing like a weave and carriages filling the streets, the monkey looked around in confusion.
"Monkey, move aside!"
Hearing this, the monkey came back to his senses and turned around, only to find that he was blocking the middle of the doorway. He hurriedly stepped aside.
Though his movements were somewhat comical, no one laughed at him. Everyone merely glanced at him before returning to their own business, as though they had no desire to waste time on something so meaningless. This made the monkey feel a little better, but he also realized that the people here were somewhat different from those he had met in small towns or villages before.
No one found it worth noticing that a monkey like him wore robes and walked along the streets. They seemed long accustomed to creatures like him.
