However, after that conversation, the relationship between man and beast eased considerably. Though they still had differences regarding the child's upbringing, at least the Mother Thunder Beast no longer snatched the child away whenever Wu Chu was not paying attention.
It was a good start. At the very least, Wu Chu no longer had to worry about the Mother Thunder Beast eating him whenever she was in a bad mood.
Though the Mother Thunder Beast had lived for who knew how many years, she acted entirely on instinct and personal preference. She never weighed pros and cons, and occasionally she was downright unreasonable.
Wu Chu could understand that. Chaos Behemoths did not live in groups like other creatures. Whenever they encountered one another, it was almost always a matter of eating—either devouring the other party or being devoured. Peaceful coexistence was rare.
Only when those behemoths entered heat and wished to reproduce would they gather with others of their kind for a time.
With so little communication, how high could those behemoths' emotional intelligence or cunning possibly be? Naturally, they were straightforward and acted as they pleased.
Thus, whenever Wu Chu was not cultivating, he rode the Little Thunder Beast through the chaos, searching for a way home while also keeping it company as it played.
As a result, the Little Thunder Beast grew increasingly attached to Wu Chu, its "mother," while becoming more and more afraid of its actual mother, the Mother Thunder Beast.
Its real mother was always forcing it to learn hunting techniques. With no other prey around, she naturally played the prey herself and engaged it in actual combat.
After every sparring session, the Little Thunder Beast
