Listening to King Yama's earnest warning,
Lu Chen nodded solemnly. "Foster Father is absolutely right. My trip to the Heavenly Court before may have been a grave mistake, but when all was said and done, I was merely dragged into it. This time is different. If I truly help the Matchmaker God and Meng Po, I'll be the principal culprit in name and deed. When the Heavenly Court holds me accountable, the consequences may be unthinkable."
At that, a trace of gratification appeared on King Yama's face. He praised, "You can still be taught!"
But Lu Chen abruptly changed the subject. "There is one thing I find strange. The Heavenly Court and the Netherworld have always exchanged what each has for what the other lacks. If the Matchmaker God truly wished to descend to the Netherworld to find Meng Po, with His rank and divine abilities, that shouldn't be difficult, should it?"
King Yama gave a disdainful snort. "That depends on whether He can get down here. The gates of the Netherworld have been shut to Him. How is He supposed to descend?"
Lu Chen froze. "The gate... has been shut?"
King Yama nodded and explained gravely, "The ones who govern the gates of the Netherworld—Ghost Gate Pass—are the two Ghost Emperors, Shentu and Yulei. The two of Them have long since struck the Matchmaker God's name from the Netherworld entry register. No matter how many schemes He has in mind, if He wishes to come down, He can only face the Netherworld and heave a helpless sigh."
Lu Chen suddenly understood. "So that's how it is."
His eyes shifted, and a plan suddenly came to him. "Hey, Foster Father, what do you think... If we could get the two Ghost Emperors, Shentu and Yulei, to relent and permit the
