Gu Chen looked at the phone in Zhongli Sui's hand and instinctively tried to refuse. "I can't accept this."

"Take it," Zhongli Sui urged. "What you told me was worth far more than a phone. Besides, I'm still waiting to add you on WeChat. You wouldn't reject me a second time, would you?"

Gu Chen had nothing to say.

Zhongli Sui helped Gu Chen unbox the phone, install WeChat, and personally add his contact before handing it over. "You don't think I'm being too forward, do you?"

Gu Chen shook his head.

Zhongli Sui smiled. "That's good."

Then he asked, "What procedures are needed to sign the home purchase contract? Do I just need to sign it?"

Gu Chen was most familiar with this process. He did not need anyone's help to complete all the paperwork in the shortest time possible. Of course, Zhongli Sui's assistants handled all the running around. Zhongli Sui only signed his name at the end.

Even though Gu Chen raced against time, it still took more than an hour to complete the whole process. Zhongli Sui's flight to Hu City was scheduled to depart at five thirty in the afternoon. His assistant took the signed home purchase contract and various documents and drove his boss to the airport. Before leaving the sales office, he did not forget to exchange contact information with Gu Chen. "If there's anything I don't understand when handling the property certificate later, I'll contact you."

Gu Chen nodded. "Feel free to contact me if anything comes up."

As the car drove out of the sales office, the assistant studied Gu Chen, who was still standing at the entrance, through the rearview mirror. "Does the matter you asked me to investigate this afternoon have anything to do with Mr. Gu?"

Zhongli Sui absently fiddled with his phone and said nothing.

The assistant asked again, "Do you need me to investigate him?"

"No need." After thinking for a moment, Zhongli Sui said, "If he really intended to get close to me, the easiest way would be to apply for an internship at Tiansui Capital. With his education and qualifications, there's no reason for HR to reject him."

The assistant turned the steering wheel and merged into the right-turn lane. "I just think Mr. Gu's appearance was too much of a coincidence."

Thinking of Gu Chen's awkward state when he had asked for his contact information, only to find that Gu Chen did not even have a phone, Zhongli Sui could not help smiling. "Maybe it really was just a coincidence. But this coincidence doesn't put me at a loss."

It was more than not being at a loss. If everything Gu Chen had said was true, Tiansui Capital could save at least several hundred million USD on this acquisition. Just as the assistant was thinking that, he received a phone call.

After hanging up, the assistant looked at Zhongli Sui in the rearview mirror and smiled. "Boss, you really didn't lose out."

Zhongli Sui raised an eyebrow.

Countless thoughts flashed through the assistant's mind in an instant. In the end, he merely asked tactfully, "Should we send Mr. Gu an internship offer and invite him to intern at Tiansui Capital?"

Thinking of Gu Chen's refusal, Zhongli Sui shook his head and chuckled. "No need. I'll repay this person and this favor myself."

Gu Chen returned to the sales office, and the female employees of Sales Team One immediately crowded around him. "Not bad! You closed a deal on your first day at work, and such a huge one at that. With so many people in the Great Zhou World sales department, only a few can pull that off."

"That was a unit in Building B. Only one unit per floor, and it was on the prime eighth floor. It costs 120,000 per square meter, so 350 square meters comes to 42 million. There's a 5% discount for full payment, making it 39.9 million. Gu Chen, your commission alone is nearly 120,000. That's amazing!"

The Great Zhou World sales department's commissions were based on sales performance. For monthly sales below ten million, the commission rate was one-thousandth; for sales between ten million and thirty million, it was two-thousandths; for sales above thirty million, it was three-thousandths. The sales department also required every employee to meet a monthly sales target of ten million. Anyone who failed to meet the target for three consecutive months would automatically resign.

Gu Chen's deal was worth 39.9 million. Based on the commission scale, he could receive three-thousandths, which was 119,700. Moreover, this single deal exceeded thirty million, so he would not need to worry about sales targets for at least the next three months, nor would he have to worry about being fired. No wonder everyone was so envious.

She had originally planned that if Gu Chen still could not close a deal by the end of the month, she would help him sign one to get him through the performance review first. One dared to sell, and the other dared to buy. There was nothing to say but admiration.

Cao Yan stood to one side, his face livid.

The more the sales office employees praised and exalted Gu Chen, the worse Cao Yan felt. Leaving aside how formidable the social connections, network, and background of someone who could pay cash for an entire floor in Building B must be, this deal alone meant nearly 120,000 in commission. It had originally been his client. The deal should have been his. That 120,000 commission, along with nearly forty million in sales performance, should have been his.

The more Cao Yan thought about it, the angrier he became. The angrier he got, the less he could swallow it. His heart ached as though it were bleeding. Of course, he could not let Gu Chen have it easy.

"Gu Chen, did you deliberately steal my deal?" Cao Yan finally could not hold it in and lashed out at Gu Chen. "I was the one receiving Mr. Zhongli at the time. The two of us were having a perfectly good conversation when you came over and stuck your foot in. You have no sense of propriety at all. Do you know that the Great Zhou World sales department has strict rules forbidding salespeople from competing for each other's clients?"

As soon as Cao Yan lost his temper, the sales office fell silent. Everyone looked at one another before turning their gazes in unison toward Gu Chen.

Liao Chunhua frowned and stepped forward to speak for Gu Chen. "Manager Cao, there's no point in saying that, is there? You're the manager of Great Zhou World Sales Department One, while Gu Chen is just an intern who arrived today. How could he possibly steal your deal?"
