Poison Manual and Flying Combat Technique

Xiao Yu took a moonstone used for illumination from his storage ring, dispelling some of the darkness. He walked up to Xiao Yi Xian and said softly, "Follow behind me. Don't be afraid."

At that, a hint of warmth rose in Xiao Yi Xian's heart.

She lifted her foot to follow Xiao Yu, only to discover that the surrounding walls were covered in marks left by various weapons, showing that a fierce battle had once taken place here.

After walking for roughly ten minutes, Xiao Yu suddenly stopped. Xiao Yi Xian, distracted by the prolonged silence, failed to notice that he had halted.

She ran straight into his back.

Xiao Yi Xian jumped back like a startled rabbit and said awkwardly, "Y-you, why did you suddenly stop?"

Feeling the soft touch against his back, Xiao Yu coughed lightly and pointed ahead. "There's no path ahead. It's blocked by a stone door."

Hearing this, Xiao Yi Xian poked her head out from behind Xiao Yu and found that their way forward was indeed blocked by an enormous stone door.

The stone door flickered with a faint yellow glow, blending seamlessly into the surrounding environment. There was not even the slightest crack to exploit.

Recalling the description from the original work, Xiao Yu remembered that this place seemed to be controlled by some mechanism. Just as he was about to say something, Xiao Yi Xian spoke first.

"This stone door must be controlled by a mechanism. Otherwise, whoever hid the treasure could not possibly have broken it open with brute force. And it is wreathed in earth-element light, clearly indicating that an earth-element mechanism has been set upon it. Forcing the door open would only trigger the mechanism."

Xiao Yu was somewhat surprised by Xiao Yi Xian's knowledge. He had not expected her to understand mechanisms as well; he had thought she was only skilled in medicine.

As Xiao Yi Xian carefully inspected the area around the stone door, Xiao Yu searched alongside her, using the faint light to examine every corner.

Xiao Yu walked over to Xiao Yi Xian and quietly told her to follow him. Then he picked up a stone from the ground and threw it through the doorway. Once he saw that nothing happened to it, he led Xiao Yi Xian inside.

Though he knew there were probably no mechanisms inside, Xiao Yu still chose to proceed cautiously in this foreign world. This was real life for him, after all. If anything differed from what he expected, he might lose his life.

The two cautiously entered through the stone door, and their view instantly widened.

Moonstones used for illumination were embedded throughout the walls of the vast stone chamber. Piles of gold, silver, and jewels lay scattered across the floor, amounting to roughly several hundred thousand in total.

At the center of the chamber stood a chair, upon which sat a set of dried bones. The skull, weathered by the passage of time, had long since fallen to the ground. Leaning against the pale thigh bone, it gave the quiet stone chamber a faintly sinister atmosphere.

In front of the chair stood a broad bluestone platform, upon which rested three locked stone boxes.

In another corner, dark soil had been piled into a small flower bed. Various rare and exotic herbs grew within it, their faint fragrance spreading through the stone chamber.

"These are Purple-Blue Leaf, White Spirit Ginseng Fruit, Snow Lotus Seeds..."

Xiao Yi Xian looked over the little flower bed with great delight, names of incomparably precious medicinal herbs flowing from her moist, delicate lips.

At the center of the flower bed was a red-and-white herb: the Iceflame Spirit Grass. Faint ice crystals rested on one half of its milky-white branches and leaves, while fiery-red sap flowed through the other half. Its stamen even seemed to burn with blazing flames.

Xiao Yu felt somewhat conflicted. This Iceflame Spirit Grass would be of immense help in subduing Heavenly Flames. Although his physique had maximum affinity for the fire element, he still decided to obtain it for safety's sake. With the resources Medicine Elder had left him, he was not particularly lacking in other herbs.

With that thought, Xiao Yu turned to Xiao Yi Xian and said, "I only want the Iceflame Spirit Grass. All the other herbs are yours. How about it?"

At first, when she heard Xiao Yu ask for the most precious herb, Xiao Yi Xian wanted to say something. But after hearing the latter half of his words, she swallowed what she had been about to say.

Lowering her head, she replied gently, "Mm, alright."

After saying that, she happily went to gather the herbs.

Xiao Yu also walked over to the flower bed and carefully dug out the Iceflame Spirit Grass together with the surrounding soil before storing it away.

Seeing that Xiao Yi Xian was still gathering the other herbs, Xiao Yu walked over to the bluestone platform and studied the three locked stone boxes.

The stone boxes were connected to the bluestone platform. Even if they could not be opened, they could not be taken away.

Xiao Yu then walked over to the dried bones on the chair. Seeing a stone-box key in its hand, he removed it. Taking advantage of the opportunity, he also extracted the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame Map embedded within the hand bones.

Afterward, he took the key and returned to the bluestone platform where the stone boxes rested.

By then, Xiao Yi Xian had finished gathering the herbs and walked over.

Xiao Yu glanced at Xiao Yi Xian, then opened the stone boxes on the bluestone platform.

The first stone box contained the Seven-Colored Poison Scripture. As Xiao Yi Xian could not become an alchemist, her interest in the Seven-Colored Poison Scripture far exceeded her interest in cultivation methods or combat techniques. Thinking that Xiao Yi Xian was a girl who needed more means of protecting herself while traveling outside, he gave the combat technique to her.
