"Hmph! He wouldn't dare tear off all pretense openly, but they're pressuring Xiao Yi Xian like this. It seems the rumor that she obtained a Xuan Tier cultivation technique isn't groundless."

As he spoke, he turned to look at Xiao Yi Xian and smiled.

"Thousand Medicine Hall has always treated you as one of our own, hasn't it?"

Xiao Yi Xian gave Yao a graceful bow.

"Needless to say, I will never forget the kindness you have shown me, sir."

Hearing Xiao Yi Xian's words, Yao smiled.

"Good! Since Thousand Medicine Hall is also your family, I want to hear one thing from you. Is the recent rumor in Green Mountain Town—that you obtained a Xuan Tier cultivation technique—true?"

Xiao Yi Xian looked at Yao and said gently.

"Then what does sir hope it is? A rumor, the truth, or a lie?"

Yao paced through the small courtyard and said loudly.

"I won't hide it from you. My informants tell me that the Wolf Head Mercenary Group is already planning to force your hand. If it's true, hand over the cultivation technique and we can naturally keep you safe. But if it's false, then there's nothing we can do."

Xiao Yi Xian had just opened her mouth to continue when a voice from outside the courtyard interrupted her.

"Hehe, Mr. Yao, you can't protect her."

A deep voice sounded from outside the courtyard, interrupting the conversation within.

"Who is it?"

His conversation interrupted, Yao immediately darkened his face and looked toward the courtyard gate.

"It hasn't been long, yet Mr. Yao can no longer recognize my voice?"

As soon as the words fell, a sinister-looking man strode inside. It was Mu She.

When Yao saw Mu She, his expression turned ugly.

"So it's Commander Mu. May I ask what brings Commander Mu to my Thousand Medicine Hall?"

"Hehe! Mr. Yao, are you looking for that bunch of trash outside?"

Mu She glanced at Yao's expression and spoke indifferently.

"What a pity. How could trash like that possibly stop my Wolf Head Mercenary Group?"

Ignoring Yao's ugly expression, Mu She waved his hand. The Wolf Head Mercenary Group took control of the courtyard, and even some of Thousand Medicine Hall's men had switched sides.

"You..."

Yao stared at his subordinates, who were acting so respectfully toward the Wolf Head Mercenary Group, and said in shock.

"You're spies from the Wolf Head Mercenary Group? You ungrateful traitors..."

"Hold on."

Mu She gave Yao a cold look and sneered.

"Mr. Yao, don't make it sound so ugly. What do you mean, ungrateful traitors? They've always been men of the Wolf Head Mercenary Group."

"Did you really think Thousand Medicine Hall could survive in Green Mountain Town for so many years merely because of your medical skills?"

"Don't be naive. Without us, your Thousand Medicine Hall would have been swallowed whole long ago. We call you Mr. Yao out of respect, but without that respect, what the hell are you?"

Mu She's words struck Yao hard. His face darkened like water as he glared at Mu She through gritted teeth, yet he did not dare say a word.

Though Mu She's words were harsh, they were not wrong. Aside from those who had already pledged themselves to the Wolf Head Mercenary Group, his remaining guards could not stir up any trouble at all.

Mu She glanced at Yao, then ignored him and walked straight to Xiao Yi Xian. Looking at her, he said in a low voice.

"Alright."

As she spoke, she took out a secret manual and held it out to Mu She.

Hearing Xiao Yi Xian's answer, not only was Mu She stunned, even Yao, who had been standing to the side, was dumbfounded.

"You... you dare toy with me?!"

Mu She stared at Xiao Yi Xian darkly, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.

As for whether I deceived you, isn't the manual right here? And Xiao Yu, whom Commander Mu is hunting, was merely someone I had a slight acquaintance with at the time."

"Knowing of the Wolf Head Mercenary Group's bounty, what adventurer would still dare remain in Green Mountain Town and wait for Commander Mu's revenge?"

Mu She took the secret manual from Xiao Yi Xian with a dark expression. Opening it, he saw that it was indeed a Xuan Tier cultivation technique.

A cold gleam flashed through his eyes as Mu She said icily.

"Good. I never expected you to have a side like this."

Mu She turned around and shouted coldly.

"The cultivation technique is genuine. I've seen Xiao Yi Xian's sincerity. In that case, welcome Xiao Yi Xian to the Wolf Head Mercenary Group. Take her with us. We're leaving."

Mu She called to the mercenaries around him, took Xiao Yi Xian, and left Thousand Medicine Hall directly.
