Background / History

During her tenure at Shrek Academy, Zhou Yi expelled numerous students on vague grounds such as “insufficient aptitude,” failure to understand the rules, or classroom disruption. Many of those affected were commoners or members of minor sect branches who had no practical means to contest her decisions. Her signed expulsion notices later became evidence used by former students and their families to seek redress from the academy. 43 48 53

As Class One's new homeroom teacher, Zhou Yi opened her first lesson by demanding that students who had not fought since enrollment run one hundred laps around Shrek Square, threatening expulsion for anyone who failed. When Tang Wulin challenged her authority, she claimed that strength itself made the rules. 26

Tang Wulin proposed that, if Zhou Yi could not defeat him and the students who had stood up, she would run one thousand laps. Zhou Yi accepted and released her six-ring Soul Emperor cultivation, but Tang Wulin defeated her without using soul skills from his Clear Sky Hammer, injured her wrist, and forced her surrender. 26 27
