Carlos—or rather, Tzeentch, whose will had descended through his body—held the signed contract in his hand. Khayon's soul had vanished, leaving behind only an empty shell carrying the scent of a lingering soul.

"Master... is our ultimate goal to unleash the End Times and reshuffle everything?" Carlos could not help asking Tzeentch. He was simply too curious.

As Tzeentch departed, he glanced at Carlos, his eyes making a full turn before he answered, half-joking and half-serious, "Yes..."

Carlos's heart pounded with excitement.

Carlos's excitement was replaced by confusion. Both of his heads, the ones that could see the past and future, tilted in incomprehension at Tzeentch's deeper meaning.

"The End Times are merely a contingency plan. You could even say they are the outcome we would resort to only if the primary plan fails."

"Th-this is only a contingency plan?" Carlos found it impossible to believe. He simply could not imagine any plan more grand than the End Times.

Tzeentch offered no further explanation. He merely patted Carlos's two little heads, which seemed rather smooth by comparison, then said mysteriously, "Rokasna is very special and very important now."

Tzeentch vanished, leaving Carlos standing dumbly in Khayon's soul realm with the signed contract in hand.

Shaking his head, Carlos felt profound awe and admiration for the Lord of Fate's schemes. Then he sat down where he was and filled the void left by Khayon's soul within his body.

Not long after, the inquisitor opened Khayon's cell with his guards. They still hoped to obtain more information from Khayon.

"Do not rush. Let me answer your questions one by one." Carlos controlled Khayon's body and spoke in an orderly manner. The inquisitor sitting across from him noticed nothing unusual.
