On one side was Holy Terra. This highly developed planet glowed with a golden halo beneath the Astronomican's radiance. The Qinghai–Tibet Plateau on its surface was shrouded in darkness, and merely looking at it let Lin Fan hear hoarse, chaotic roars ringing in his ears.
On the other side was Mars headquarters, the heart of the Adeptus Mechanicus. Factories and fully enclosed steel hive cities stood across its crimson surface, forming an endless iron shell that even faintly resembled a skull. Mars was now ablaze with war. Everywhere Lin Fan looked, flames burned and black smoke rose. The Adeptus Mechanicus and the Dark Mechanicum had deployed their most dangerous technologies upon this planet, and there was even a hill of Titan wreckage in the wasteland.
Most striking of all was the enormous wound running from east to west across Mars. Silvery living metal slowly flowed in its depths, looking weak and powerless.
This must be the Void Dragon.
Lin Fan withdrew his gaze and took several steps toward Terra. The same dizzying upheaval came over him, the scene shifted, and amid Cegorach's piercing laughter, Lin Fan emerged from the void outside the Imperial Palace.
It was utterly quiet here. The imposing patrol forces and crowds of pilgrims had vanished, leaving only the deafening sounds of battle coming from the palace's mountain-like center. Agonized roars and battle cries blended together as they shot into the heavens, making the dark clouds overhead twist like a vortex.
Carrying the magic sword and the Lion Sword, Lin Fan hurried forward. The Dark King within the Golden Throne had also sensed the threat of annihilation and instinctively sent his servants to stop Lin Fan.
