When you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes back at you.
For some reason, Magnus thought of those words. Then the rift, which he had compared to the Warp, suddenly became unnaturally active.
"Father... what... what is that?" Magnus stared in utter shock as the boundless darkness pouring from the rift instantly took forms he knew well: Bloodthirsters, Great Unclean Ones, Lord of Change, Keeper of Secrets...

Magnus found it absurdly laughable. He even suspected that Leman Russ had knocked him unconscious and that he was trapped in some ridiculous dream devoid of all reason.
The familiar yet unfamiliar daemons advanced toward Magnus, craving the power of Chaos he had gathered and the Warp essence dwelling within his soul.
Magnus could clearly feel their profound desire and realized that his investigation seemed to have awakened something dreadful.
But... there was nothing to fear.
They were merely daemons. Magnus could tell that these shadow-like creatures possessed only grotesque forms, not the essence of the gods. A casual wave of his hand would be enough to destroy them.
"I'll waste a little power helping you solve this ancient problem." An arrogant smile curled Magnus's lips as he casually wove a spell and blasted it toward the slowly advancing daemons.
Just as he had expected, thunder with the force of ten thousand bolts instantly tore every daemon apart, returning their solidified bodies to their primordial Chaotic essence.
Yet Magnus's arrogant smile did not last long. Even after becoming pools of turbid matter, the daemons remained active. They broke down and devoured the violent lightning, extracting even more dreadful concepts from the psychic bolts.
So that was it... bloodlust born of frenzied slaughter...
