Agrippina Forge World.
The geomagnetic signal towers at the planet's poles activated under the blessings of the Adeptus Mechanicus priests. Atop each tower hung a massive bell carved with sacred cog symbols. The device drew upon the planet's geomagnetic force, driving a hammer just as enormous as the bell itself.
Ring the great bell once! Pull the levers, activate the pistons and pumps!
Ring the great bell twice! Press the buttons, start the engines, ignite the turbines, infuse life!
Ring the great bell thrice! Sing in unison, praise the Machine God!
The three bell tolls spread outward from the poles and swept across the entire world. The impact forced the toxic atmosphere shrouding the planet's surface to gather around the equator, where it collided and compressed, nearly bursting beyond the atmosphere. Once the shock subsided, the violently compressed air masses exploded outward again, battering every inch of the land with fierce winds.
Eighty million industrial slaves living in sealed hive cities bowed their heads for this glorious moment. Their hands and feet never stopped moving. Adeptus Mechanicus priests moved among them, their mechanically altered throats roaring deafening reminders not to let the Machine God's might delay their work.
"The Machine God does not favor idleness! The Machine God does not favor slowness! Continue working! Continue praising!"
Only after the supervising priest had gone to inspect the next sector did some people cautiously ask those beside them what the three muffled bell tolls meant.
"The Machine God's holy relic has been brought back," the oldest among the industrial slaves answered. "Those were bells of welcome. They have nothing to do with us. Keep working."
As he had said, a colossal Mechanical Ark was indeed moored outside the planet. This Mechanical Ark, named the Eternal Exploration, was led by Fabricator General Rom.
