Like all the Primarchs who had just heard the news, Ferrus's flame-forged face first showed stunned disbelief, before twisting into a mocking smile that dismissed Lin Fan's words as completely illogical.
Slaanesh and The Emperor joining forces? Impossible. Absolutely impossible.
"This isn't a funny joke." Ferrus stared at Lin Fan. If he had not known he could not win, he would have punched him already.
Seeing that Ferrus did not believe it at all, the other Primarchs joined in trying to persuade him. But this only enraged Ferrus further. He suspected that his brothers were making a fool of him.
In the end, it was Rogal Dorn's statement that convinced Ferrus the alliance between Slaanesh and The Emperor was real. Ferrus greatly disliked this brother who was too upright for his own good, yet deep down, he acknowledged that Dorn's integrity and honesty were a bulwark even daemons could not shake.
"Slaanesh and The Emperor have joined forces, politically speaking. That is largely thanks to him. He is Slaanesh's husband, or wife, or son, or master, depending on what form Slaanesh takes when meeting him." Dorn spoke slowly to Ferrus, each word stirring towering waves in Ferrus's heart.
"R-Really?" Ferrus said with difficulty. The flames that had dimmed began to swell bit by bit. It was easy to imagine just how furious he was.
"To be honest, if Slaanesh and The Emperor had not joined forces, my soul would not have been released so easily either." Fulgrim awkwardly scratched his head.
After taking in this barrage of explosive news, Ferrus stood stunned for a long while. Then he muttered, "No wonder... No wonder I've never seen Slaanesh's daemons in the recent wars..."
His voice abruptly rose as Ferrus roared, "So The Emperor shamefully compromised with Slaanesh! How can he face
