To secure victory, they risked their lives and dared to pass through Slaanesh's realm even as she coveted their souls.

Things were much better now. Slaanesh would not try to seize a Warp Spider and toss him into her mouth to chew apart; she would merely lick him with her tongue or sniff at him with her nose. Still, it was hardly a pleasant experience.

One such Warp Spider was easily hit by Warsmith Drau. His armor, designed specifically for teleportation and hunting, could not stop a searing ball of plasma at close range. However, the psychic charm around his neck blocked the plasma blast.

But Warp Spiders always operated in squads. While Drau attacked that Warp Spider, the others arrived on the dangerous battlefield. Keeping low, they crouched silently in the shadows. They had no intention of fighting Drau or the Daemon Engines; they merely tossed down several teleportation beacons before hurriedly leaving.

"Hey! Get back here! You sly, cowardly knife-eared bastards!" Drau roared at the fading silhouettes of the Warp Spiders as they leapt into the Warp and vanished. Something about their movements told him that something was amiss.

Electric sparks crackled, and the air filled with a faint, unpleasant smell of scorching. It was the sign of a teleportation device activating.

"Ha!" Drau laughed several times, sounding slightly unhinged. "Your main force? Or are you planning to run away with this bunch of weaklings? Let me tell you, no one escapes my grasp!"
