Oedmeir told Rebecca to stop wasting energy, which finally made Rebecca, who had been flying around in the air, settle down somewhat. After landing, she returned to the humanoid form Lin Fan recognized.
Yet Lin Fan felt that Rebecca looked rather foolish now, as though she had not fully woken up.
"She simply can't handle that much computational load. Adjusting an engine's output rate is delicate work," Oedmeir told Lin Fan. Rebecca was not seriously hurt. Once she activated the factories on Spicy Planet, she would be able to produce servo systems compatible with the warship and install them.
Oedmeir appeared to be in a good mood. She handed her empty coffee can to Lin Fan, then had him show her how the planet was doing.
She had spent the past several days holed up in the laboratory, calibrating the equipment on Rebecca. Though her body was superhuman, the exhaustion in her mind still needed an outlet.
After hearing this, Lin Fan took her to the newly outlined city.
Lin Fan had not yet decided what to call the city. Planetary names could be rejected during review for being duplicates, but no one cared about the names of cities.
"What do you think? Our scientist should name it?"
"Let's wait until it's finished."
She pointed toward the distant construction site, where unpainted engineering vehicles were leveling the earth. Mobile furnaces, coordinated coolers, and rapid-setting concrete mixers were swiftly constructing identical buildings.
Soldiers supervised the residents at work, but none held bloodied whips, nor were there executed corpses by the roadside to intimidate others.
The soldiers of the 37th Regiment were more like safety officers here. Even from where he stood, Lin Fan could hear their shouting.
"Damn it, you blockheads! Haven't you been listening to the evening lessons every day?
