Communications had been cut off. Only static came through. Lin Fan turned to look at Yvraine and the Seers who had just completed their divination. These Aeldari wore the panic of impending doom on their faces.

Yet they controlled that panic well enough for its meaning to be clear.

They felt the pain of the other Aeldari's doom as if it were their own.

"We found some information on this planet about the two missing Craftworlds... but... it isn't pleasant news..." One of the Seers spoke, pressing a hand against his helmet to ease the psychic backlash from the prophecy.

"So what did you see? Don't tell me someone on this planet is using Soul Stones as gemstones?"

"...Talking like that will only damage our unity... But this psychic sensation does not come from Soul Stones." Yvraine bit her lip, looking deeply conflicted. "It feels like Aeldari flesh and blood... as though one of our kin had been cut open by something, its claws smeared with organs and blood, with dripping trails of blood luring us into rushing straight toward a trap."

"That's awfully specific..." Lin Fan shook his head. Then he saw Howens IV being swallowed by a black curtain. Above the mineral-rich hemisphere, green light flickered within the veil, like furious lightning occasionally flashing through a storm front.

Lin Fan could only associate such a change with the Necrons. Perhaps there was a Necron tomb on this planet.

"Haha!" Lin Fan laughed, earning a look from Yvraine as though he were insane. With great flair, Lin Fan pulled out the disk, lightly tapped it twice with his finger, then held it to his ear, wearing the expression of someone with connections.

"Hello? Old Trazyn, some of your colleagues are attacking me here. Come deal with it."
