"Put me down! Let me stay where I am!" Aeldari shouted angrily, but she didn't have much strength to resist Mar's actions. She could only glare at Mar with her eyes under the damaged helmet.

"Oh, I've seen more cruel looks than this. You can't scare a warrior who fights for the Emperor!" Mar said disdainfully.

Aeldari is much lighter than expected, Mar feels like he is hugging the little girl who just entered middle school who owns the coffee shop next door.

"Put me down! Let me die here!" Aeldari shouted angrily again, but before she could say anything more, she was interrupted by a cough.

Mar walked with Aeldari for a while. Sometimes he felt that he was carrying a light body, but Aeldari would always cough twice at the right time to tell Mar that she was still alive.

Aeldari breathed heavily, her broken helmet finally becoming a torture tool.

She stretched out her hand and took off the helmet with difficulty.

The ears are pointed and droop downward. The facial features are exquisite and the skin is smooth and clean. This is the most beautiful face Mar has ever seen in his life.

"Why, why are you so stupid?" Aeldari stared at Mar with her blue eyes.

Mar stared blankly at Aeldari's face for a while, not because he had any evil thoughts, but because the Xenos in front of him... looked too human.

If there is any difference, it is that the droopy ears are very conspicuous, if this Aeldari covers the ears under her smooth hair.

Mar feels that not many people can tell that he is Xenos. At most, they think that she is some kind of beautiful aristocratic lady from the upper class of Hive City.

"Because it's better to go alone than to go alone. If you really encounter something terrible, I will leave you where you are as bait." Mar answered.

"This makes no sense at all... Will living one more second make you feel satisfied?" Aeldari asked in confusion.

"Live for one more second? Live for one more second and you can change the situation of the battle! If you hadn't stabbed that Orks with a knife just now, my head would have been crushed! Now look at it, just because of this extra second, we successfully released Pour a damn Orks!" Mar felt that he had found a reasonable enough excuse. He nodded gently as he spoke, as if he was scolding a naughty bag who folded flowers.

Aeldari sighed helplessly and muttered bad words about monkeys being stupid.

Mar told him quite seriously that he was a human being, not a monkey.

"That makes no difference..."

"There is a difference, just like Orks is different from you. Although they are both Xenos, you don't look as vicious as I thought."

Aeldari frowned, she had a new understanding of Mar's ignorance, "That's because you haven't met our fallen cousin yet..." There was a warning in her tone.

Mar didn't say much and just continued walking forward.

After a while, Aeldari asked Mar in a gentle voice, "You said you were a flower shop owner?"

"Of course, before these Orks ruined everything, I had a pretty sweet flower shop."

Mar spoke nostalgically, telling what kinds of flowers and plants he had tended and what kind of guests he had received.

Aeldari listened very seriously. She said that before she became a guardian, her main job was to take care of flowers and plants.

"Really? Then we are still traveling together." Mar showed a friendly smile.

"I'm not a colleague, that's just your wishful thinking." Aeldari didn't appreciate it and made a face at him.

Mar always felt like he was dealing with a little girl who was not easy to get along with, rather than the rather abominable Xenos advertised in the manual.

The smoke in front of him became thicker and thicker, and the surrounding scenes reminded him of his past.

He ran out of the burning flower shop in panic. The street was full of victims killed by Orks. The little daughter of the coffee shop owner was grabbed by Orks's arms and thighs and torn alive. Facing the horror in front of him, all Mar could do was run for his life.

The bad memories made Mar tighten his hands on Aeldari's waist. He heard a beautiful cry of pain and saw Aeldari staring at him with vigilant eyes.

Aeldari's injuries seem to have recovered somewhat, at least they are not completely paralyzed on Mar's body.

She put one hand across Mar's back and put it on his shoulder. Mar apologized to her, saying that she thought of some not-so-good memories.

Aeldari was silent for a while and said slowly, "You... are more emotional than I thought."

"Then what did you think we were before?" Mar asked.

"Ignorance, fanaticism, cruelty. How you view Orks is how we view you."

"I'm glad we got to know each other a little better."

"But you are still a stupid monkey, and you have made many mistakes in handling the water nymphs."

"Maybe." Mar sneered. He just felt that this Aeldari's mouth was really tough.

Fortunately, they did not encounter more Orks, but unfortunately, the smell of Aeldari attracted insects wandering in the forest.

Aeldari's face turned pale. She struggled and tried to get off Mar's body.

Mar is very dissatisfied with Aeldari's movements. Even if she is very light, this kind of movement will waste more of his energy.

"Stop moving!" Mar warned fiercely, and he saw Aeldari's ears drooping even more.

"Put me down, you still have a chance to live for a few more seconds now." Aeldari's tone was calm, "The bugs are getting closer and closer to me, and they will not give up the delicious food that is right in front of them."

Bug? Mar glanced around, he saw nothing and heard nothing.

"Because your perception ability is very low, just like your flower-growing skills." Aeldari said sarcastically.

"If you really know that there are bugs coming, then you should tell me." Mar put Aeldari on the ground, and the latter frowned because of physical pain and made a soft hiss.

Seeing Mar standing in front of her, Aeldari said anxiously, "It's time for you to go! Let me die here quietly!"

"Shut up!" Mar turned around and glared at Aeldari, then put a handful of Laspistol in her arms. "I used to watch a little girl being torn apart alive and then swallowed into Orks's stomach. This nightmare has tortured me all my life, and I will not let this nightmare get richer."

Aeldari was stunned. She looked at Mar's dirty back and subconsciously clenched Lasgun in her hand.
