Back in his bedroom, Qin Yi lay on the bed and opened a folder on the Ikong tablet.
"One, two, three... six. Six of them? Of these, the three major families within WASP are mainly involved in politics, while the other three are major capitalists who have controlled the economic lifelines since the founding of the United States. In that case, I only need to talk to four of those families first."
After carefully reviewing the distribution of power within the two major organizations, Qin Yi stared at the paralyzed figure in one of the photographs and murmured,
"You'll do."
Still, he needed to find someone to handle errands for him as soon as possible.
Bucky definitely wouldn't do. As a proper United States soldier, it wasn't quite appropriate to have him do such things.
Qin Yi took a set of black Vibranium clothing out of his magic space.
He stared at the black mask for a while, then smiled.
"To think I'd be using it so soon."
After putting on the Vibranium suit, Qin Yi froze as he looked at his reflection. This kid was seriously handsome. Even back on Earth in his previous life, he was only slightly inferior to the esteemed readers.
Back in the Zombie Universe,
Shuri had curiously asked Qin Yi why he had added a black cloak over the Vibranium outfit.
Qin Yi had answered with only two words.
"Style points."
After putting on the mask, Qin Yi vanished from the spot amid a ripple of spatial energy.
Washington.
A massive castle spanning dozens of acres stood atop a rocky peak. If he hadn't seen the city buildings in the distance, Qin Yi would truly have suspected that he had arrived in the Middle Ages.
As the pillar of a family whose collateral branches had produced three United States presidents, this family was truly anything but ordinary.
Fortunately, the family patriarch who had been powerful his entire life,
William Adams, was already seventy-six years old. Suffering from a serious illness, he had been bedridden for years.
After ensuring that he had concealed his traces with magic and would no longer be captured by surveillance cameras, Qin Yi walked to William Adams's bedside.
With a wave of his hand, the Mirror Dimension enveloped the entire room.
At the same time, an identical William Adams appeared on the bed outside the space.
The bedridden and paralyzed William Adams weakly looked at the stranger who had suddenly appeared beside his bed out of thin air.
He wanted to call out, but discovered that he was too weak to make a sound.
Qin Yi said nothing. He merely waved his hand, and a table suddenly appeared beside the bed, laden with delicious food in every color and aroma.
Sitting at the table, Qin Yi ate by himself, while William Adams stared fixedly at both the figure beside the table and the food spread across it.
The room was silent, save for the sounds of Qin Yi eating.
Those sounds seemed to possess some kind of magic, desperately drilling into William Adams's ears.
As the light in his eyes flickered, his throat slowly swallowed.
After a long while, Qin Yi wiped the corner of his mouth with a handkerchief. Rising to his feet, white light bloomed in his hand.
With great effort, Qin Yi dug out a tiny portion of energy from the light and tossed it toward William Adams's body.
Under William Adams's horrified gaze, the white light slowly sank into his body.
Moments later, William Adams sat up in bed. He did not scream or make a fuss, merely looking up at Qin Yi and asking,
"Is there any more food?"
Qin Yi waved his hand, and the table was once again covered with food.
William Adams leaped out of bed, sat down at the table, and began devouring it.
After sweeping away all the food,
William Adams, who had let out a satisfied burp, set down his wineglass.
Ignoring the wine stains still at the corner of his mouth, he looked at the stranger before him and asked expectantly,
"What do I need to give?"
"Just a little. Take control of your family, pressure the White House, and stop the actions against Mutants."
William Adams shook his head upon hearing that.
"If only my family speaks up, I'm afraid it will be difficult."
"I'll go have a talk with them."
After Qin Yi placed a magic card on the table,
"When you need to contact me, hold the card and recite silently. You get one chance each year."
With that, Qin Yi vanished from the spot amid spatial ripples.
As the Mirror Dimension dissolved, William Adams discovered that the table before him,
along with the food on it, slowly faded away as though it had never existed.
He touched his stomach and repeatedly confirmed that he was full.
When he turned his head, he saw an identical version of himself lying on the bed. It gave him a strange smile before vanishing.
William Adams stared at the magic card on the floor in horror.
Afterward, Qin Yi visited the heads of several major families one after another under the identity of a mysterious man.
After casually controlling a middle-aged man who had outwardly agreed to his terms while secretly planning certain experiments,
he learned the military's true purpose for hunting Mutants.
After enjoying the wealth, power, and women gained from exploiting the entire world, these people really had become unwilling to leave this world.
They dreamed of researching the genes inside Mutants' bodies to create serums capable of curing their illnesses and even granting longevity.
That also explained why the heads of those families had decisively agreed to his conditions after witnessing the effects of the Healing Spell.
Perhaps they felt that the opportunity right before their eyes was better than vague experiments that might not even yield results.
Yet Qin Yi inexplicably felt like a villain. If the military's experiments succeeded, a serum that could cure diseases and even extend human life would be beneficial to humanity.
Shaking his head, he suppressed those messy thoughts.
Even if it succeeded, it would only benefit those capitalists. What the hell would it have to do with ordinary people like us?
When those major capitalists began pushing together in the same direction, the results were obvious.
In less than three hours,
the United States government announced at its defense conference that humans and Mutants would coexist peacefully, calling on Professor X Charles and Magneto to participate in the Peace Conference.
After confirming the news, Qin Yi appeared in the house where Charles and Logan were staying amid spatial ripples.
Logan looked at Qin Yi excitedly and said,
"Brother Qin, not bad."
Qin Yi nodded to the two of them.
"I already told you the general direction. During the negotiations, make it clear to them that you're acting to protect Earth's safety and will only deal with external interstellar crises. You have no intention of participating in Earth's internal competition. As for those Mutants who refuse to cooperate, tell me where they are, and I'll deal with them."
Charles nodded, and a figure surfaced in his mind.
"Looks like I need to find an old friend."
"I'll take you there. Let's settle these matters quickly, then I'll arrange something else afterward."
Seeing Charles's brows gradually knit together, Qin Yi sighed and said,
"You don't think the Mutant problem has already been solved just like this, do you?"
Qin Yi shook his head and continued speaking to Charles.
"This is only temporary. Humans are contradictory creatures. When there's no external crisis, they're especially good at infighting.
"But in my view, whether humans or Mutants,
when facing crises from the universe, all intelligent life on Earth should be a community of shared interests. They just can't see that yet.
"To prevent Earth's internal forces from being overly depleted,
the higher-ups in the United States government and the people behind them need to feel threatened.
"A threat they can't solve, yet can effectively avoid.
"And one that only you can help them avoid.
"Demonstrate the value of Mutants in a crisis. That is the way to achieve lasting peaceful coexistence."
After pondering for a moment, Charles said,
"I can't imagine what you plan to do."
Qin Yi smiled and said,
"There's an alien race that has been hiding within Earth for decades. They're especially skilled at shapeshifting. This time, we'll use them to..."
Skrulls. Those shapeshifting bastards were simply too disgusting.
They had to be eliminated. Otherwise, when he grew up and started chasing girls, what if he only discovered after they had gotten intimate that she was a green-skinned monster?
For a man, that would be even more devastating than having a little green on his head.
