Watching a Meteor Shower with You

Wanda, who was taking a walk hand in hand with Qin Yi, suddenly threw her arms around him and refused to let go for a long while.

Feeling the surging softness against him, Qin Yi thought, Damn it, she's under eighteen. I can't.

The education he had received since childhood would not allow his upright, kind, loving self to do such a thing. Forget it, I'll just hold her for a while. The law doesn't say hugging is illegal, does it?

The two of them remained locked in an embrace for a long time.

Until the sound of Master Ancient One coughing arose behind them.

Qin Yi turned to glance at Master Ancient One. The murderous look in his eyes made even her wonder, You've been hugging for nearly an hour. Aren't you going to let go?

Qin Yi rolled his eyes at Old Yao. You think I don't want to? Staying together to build our relationship would be great. It's just that I still haven't figured out how to deal with Wanda's parents.

Was he supposed to tell Wanda directly that the bomb which destroyed her home and killed her parents had been manufactured by the company that had raised him since childhood? Qin Yi could not remember how Wanda had forgiven Tony in the original universe.

He had once thought it was just an insignificant little scene, one that the movies had not even spent a few minutes depicting.

But only after finding himself in the middle of it did he realize how tormenting it truly was.

Master Ancient One understood instantly. She shrugged helplessly at Qin Yi.

Forget it. He would go to Mokong Tower first. Ever since Mokong Tower, the headquarters of Life Control Corporation, had been built, he had never stayed in the new home on its top floors.

After saying goodbye to Master Ancient One, Qin Yi took Wanda's hand and went to pick up little Morgan.

The top three floors were Qin Yi's newly designed home.

The six floors beneath the new home housed the laboratory Qin Yi and Tony had newly designed. Most of the equipment from the laboratory beneath Howard Estate had been moved here, while the dozens of floors below were the new company's headquarters.

After Qin Yi brought Wanda and little Morgan to the new home through a spatial vortex,

the little girl skipped around the living room, dragging Wanda along by the hand.

After Qin Yi called Tony and explained the situation, Howard and Maria were still worried, but they told him not to let the little girl stay up too late.

After searching through the kitchen refrigerator several times, Qin Yi finally confirmed that he had never intended to move in here, at least not for the time being.

After checking the food in his magical storage space, he found that there was nothing suitable for children. Helpless, Qin Yi returned to Howard Estate through a spatial vortex.

After packing up Morgan's food, Qin Yi took two sets of tableware. Under the shocked gazes of Uncle Howard, Aunt Maria, Tony, and Pepper, he vanished from the dining room in a ripple of space.

Tony, who was the first to recover, uncertainly asked his parents,

"Besides little Morgan's, did Qin just take two more sets of tableware?"

Howard and Maria had not looked closely enough, so they could only look up at Pepper together.

After confirming it several times, Pepper nodded.

Aunt Maria hurriedly said to Pepper,

"Tomorrow, when little Morgan comes back, ask her about it."

Everyone nodded. Aunt Maria and Uncle Howard exchanged a look.

The dining table was piled high with food.

Poor little Morgan sat beside Qin Yi, eating by herself while occasionally glancing at the grilled meat on the table. Clearly, she was furious that her uncle would not let her eat any.

Wanda sat tightly beside Qin Yi on his other side, constantly placing food onto his plate.

Seeing Morgan's aggrieved expression, Qin Yi could not bear it any longer. He cut several pieces of grilled meat and handed them to her,

then rubbed little Morgan's head.

"Don't eat too much. It'll be hard to digest at night."

The little girl excitedly stood up and gave Qin Yi a loud kiss.

Wanda quietly watched Qin Yi and adorable little Morgan until Qin Yi rubbed his head and said to her,

"Hurry up and eat. Later, you'll be in charge of bathing the little one."

Wanda nodded. After thinking for a long time, she gathered her courage and gently kissed Qin Yi on the cheek.

Qin Yi froze in place for a long time.

Seeing this, little Morgan secretly giggled to herself. Tomorrow, I have to tell Grandpa, Grandma, Daddy, and Mommy. Uncle is so dense.

After dinner, little Morgan made a fuss in the living room, demanding that Qin Yi take her out to play.

Clearly, the fact that Grandpa, Grandma, and Mommy could not keep an eye on her tonight made her very excited.

Unable to withstand the little girl's repeated pleading, Qin Yi could not bear to refuse and agreed.

After Qin Yi's surging energy enveloped the three of them, they appeared in Antarctica, which had already entered polar night, amid a spatial ripple.

Little Morgan wrapped her arms around Qin Yi's neck and said in a soft, sweet voice,

"Uncle, this place isn't fun."

"Wait a moment, little Morgan. I'll make something fun for you in a bit."

After using magic to stabilize several massive icebergs,

Qin Yi waved his hand, and a huge sofa appeared atop one of them. After placing little Morgan, who was surrounded by a magical shield, onto the sofa,

he sat beside her and beckoned to Wanda. Wanda quietly sat down beside Qin Yi.

Qin Yi stretched out one hand toward a certain place in outer space.

As Qin Yi released his energy, an asteroid belt somewhere in outer space began to tremble violently. Before long, countless meteors hurtled toward Earth's atmosphere.

Just as the meteors were about to enter the atmosphere, surging magic shattered them into countless small fragments.

As they rubbed against the atmosphere, the fragments burned at high temperatures and glowed, becoming one shooting star after another.

One meteor after another streaked across the sky with dazzling brilliance, trailing radiant arcs that illuminated the entire silent night.

Looking at the vast meteor shower in the night sky, little Morgan excitedly stood on the sofa and shouted.

The light of the falling meteors shone upon Wanda's quiet face. She tightly held Qin Yi's hand and slowly leaned her whole body against his shoulder.

A long time later

At Kamar-Taj, Master Ancient One looked up at the meteor shower that had been falling for over an hour.

The moment the meteors entered the atmosphere, she had sensed that familiar energy fluctuation. She shook her head helplessly.

Young people these days really knew how to have fun.

After watching the meteor shower for more than an hour, little Morgan was finally tired out.

She kept yawning. After snuggling into Qin Yi's arms, she fell asleep before long.

Qin Yi glanced toward space, and the dazzling meteor shower abruptly stopped. Energy enveloped the little girl in his arms and Wanda beside him, and they vanished from the iceberg in a spatial ripple.

Holding the little girl, Qin Yi gently placed her on the bed and tucked her in.

Then Qin Yi took Wanda's hand and pointed to a room next door. Before he could say anything, Wanda shook her head.

All right.

Qin Yi led Wanda into his bedroom, where she quietly sat by the bed.

Qin Yi walked over to the piano and casually cast a soundproofing spell to ensure that he would not disturb little Morgan's sweet dreams.

He played a few notes at random and said,

"Wanda, I'll sing you a song."

Wanda nodded quietly.

The rain and clouds slowly part,

spreading warmth everywhere.

I'll take you to watch meteor showers fall upon this Earth,
