Under Su Nuo's command, Defense Force soldiers carrying field shields and combat robots marched at the front, swiftly advancing toward the next weapons chamber.
Their first target was a macro-cannon firing bay, which held a large number of defenders. Unless the Defense Force wiped out every Imperium soldier inside, they would be unable to continue advancing.
Otherwise, the Defense Force would end up under attack from both front and rear. Though no number of Imperium soldiers could truly threaten them, the Defense Force still chose to advance steadily.

The Defense Force's front-line soldiers and robots slowly approached the weapons chamber. They stopped just a few steps before the turn leading into it, while the soldiers carrying field shields in the front row crouched halfway down and braced their shields firmly, clearing firing lines for their comrades behind them.
Once the front-row soldiers had crouched, the soldiers in the rear carrying grenade launchers quickly stepped forward, rested their weapons atop the field shields, and pulled the triggers toward the weapons chamber.

Thick shells shot from the grenade launcher barrels and flew into the weapons chamber. After striking the walls, the grenade rounds bounced away and continued hopping merrily in every direction.
The grenade launcher was a new type of weapon, fitted with timers that would only detonate ten seconds after being fired. No matter how violently they struck something beforehand, they would not explode. This weapon was best suited for street fighting, allowing one to attack hidden enemies without even exposing one's head.
