Whoosh!
A brilliant flash streaked through the vacuum of space, and dozens of enormous warships abruptly appeared outside an unfamiliar star system.
The warships hovered silently in the vast, boundless vacuum like slumbering beasts. Since sound could not travel through space, the people within the star system had not noticed this fleet's sudden arrival.
Even the dazzling light produced when the warships emerged from dimensional travel could not be detected by those inside the system without advanced technological equipment.
Tulas stood in the flagship's command bridge, his eyes fixed on the screen before him. Only after the fleet had successfully completed its dimensional jump did he turn and report to Gray, "Commander Gray, we have arrived outside the first target star system. We can launch the attack at any time."
After two brief dimensional jumps, the Star Navy's Second Fleet had finally reached this Imperium star system, only five light-years away from the Star Sea Galaxy.
Gray nodded at Tulas's report. "Good."
Gray then turned to the officers behind him. Among them were three battalion commanders from the Space Marines, each commanding a thousand elite Space Marines.
Nack of the First Company had led the remaining three Space Marine battalions aboard another fleet. Nack was not only the commander of the First Battalion, First Company, but also the First Company's deputy commander. Whenever Gray was absent, he would take over command of the Space Marines in battle.
There were also six Defense Force commanders, leading six million well-equipped, rigorously trained Defense Force soldiers.
These were the ground troops Gray had brought for this campaign. Naturally, Tulas commanded the naval personnel.
Gray was responsible for commanding combat after the landing forces entered the planets, while Tulas was responsible for naval warfare. Their duties were clearly divided; there was no question of
