This small bunker was like an insurmountable barrier, firmly blocking the entire Defense Force squad and more than two hundred combat robots outside.
The two sides fell into a brief stalemate. The pressure between them was as heavy as Mount Tai. Neither dared to risk exposing themselves to attack, and could only use overwhelming firepower to keep the other suppressed.
"Tank, requesting support!"
The squad leader shouted into the comms channel, his voice full of urgency and tension.
Faced with the sturdy bunker ahead, the equipment carried by ordinary infantry was clearly powerless to breach the defensive line. Under such circumstances, the Defense Force squad leader decisively called for support.
After all, having support and not using it would be utterly foolish.
"Received. We'll be there shortly."
The commander of the Apocalypse Tank replied steadily and firmly, his tone brimming with confidence.
Less than half a minute later, a massive Apocalypse Tank came racing over. As soon as it approached, it charged straight toward the bunker without hesitation.
"Enemy tank spotted! Take out that tank!"
The Planetary Defence Force soldier operating the lumberjack machine gun heard the roar of the Apocalypse Tank's engine and immediately shouted an anxious warning to the other soldiers inside the bunker.
The remaining soldiers in the bunker looked at one another. For a moment, none of them could make up their minds to sacrifice themselves for their comrades.
"Hurry up! If we don't fight back now, we'll all die here!" Seeing that none of them moved, the machine gunner shouted anxiously once more.
"I'll go. Tell my ma I wasn't a coward.
For the great Emperor."
One soldier made up his mind and roared at the others. He grabbed an armor-piercing rocket launcher beside him and swiftly darted out from the rear of the bunker.
