"There are Genestealers in this galaxy too? Just how many Genestealers have infiltrated humanity?" Dorak exclaimed in astonishment.
This was already the third galaxy where they had discovered Genestealers. Dorak could not help but lament that the Imperium was a massive sieve, with xenos slipping in everywhere.
"These creatures are quite intelligent, and the Imperium's warship defenses are far too lax. Genestealers with powerful psychic abilities can easily infiltrate human-inhabited planets," York explained to Dorak.
The Defense Force had dealt with Genestealers the most and was therefore the most familiar with these Genestealers lurking within the Imperium of Man. Of the three, York had the greatest authority on the matter.
After infiltrating the Imperium of Man's warships, these Genestealers would not readily attack the naval crew aboard. Instead, when Imperial warships entered various galaxies to resupply, they would quietly slip onto inhabited human planets and lie low.
They would continuously expand their numbers. Only once the Genestealer population on a planet grew large enough would they, empowered by their hive mind's psychic force, connect with a Tyranid fleet and provide psychic coordinates, guiding more Tyranids to devour the planet or even the entire galaxy.
Moreover, when the Tyranids reached a galaxy marked for consumption, they would not devour every Genestealer at once. Instead, they would let some Genestealers with psychic talent escape.
Once those escaped Genestealers believed themselves safe and built up another sufficiently large Genestealer population, they too would unconsciously send psychic coordinates to the Tyranids under the influence of the hive mind, drawing them in to devour that galaxy or planet.
