Bulon stood quietly where he was, as though time itself had frozen. He remained silent for a long while.
At last, he slowly turned to the communications officer beside him and said in a deep, solemn voice:
"Put me through to Sage Cawl. There is something important I need to consult him about."
Upon hearing General Bulon's order, the communications officer hurriedly nodded respectfully. "Yes, General Bulon!"
He immediately began operating the communications device in his hands, connecting to Sage Cawl's private channel as quickly as possible.
A few seconds later, the servo-skull that had been floating quietly beside Bulon suddenly stirred. Its scarlet electronic eye flashed sharply, then projected a clear holographic image.
Within the projection appeared Sage Cawl's enormous, imposing back.
Through the gaps around Sage Cawl's broad, mountain-like frame, Bulon could vaguely make out an incomparably massive research table before him.
A similarly massive figure lay stretched across the table, clearly devoid of life. With a single glance, Bulon recognized its identity: one of those heretic Space Marines.
Sage Cawl was fully focused on studying the Space Marine's corpse, along with the various finely crafted weapons and equipment it carried.
After connecting Bulon's call, Sage Cawl did not even raise his head before asking, "General Bulon, what is it that you need from me?"
Bulon first straightened his posture, then bowed slightly, crossing his hands over his chest. In a standard, solemn gesture, he offered an Aquila salute toward Sage Cawl's back.
Bulon knew full well that, although Sage Cawl had his back to him, his unfathomable capabilities and keen perception would surely allow him to see Bulon's every movement.
