Nack and his four teammates took just two minutes to wipe out a tactical squad from the Defenders Chapter. On their side, only one soldier had his shoulder guard shattered by a boltgun; the rest of the Space Marines were completely unharmed.
"Squad Leader Nack, those Astartes Space Marines, the Imperium's lackeys, are nothing special," one Space Marine said to Nack with a smile.
"Indeed. The Imperium's lackeys are far weaker than us. Captain Gray used to tell us how powerful they were, but I never expected them to be so vulnerable before our attack," Nack said excitedly.
The five of them looked at the fifteen corpses clad in power armor on the ground and discussed the battle among themselves.
For the Space Marines who had been born and raised in the Underhive, Gray had once been the most knowledgeable among all the Star Space Marines. During his free time, Captain Gray would tell them how powerful the Imperium's Space Marines were and how they fought across the galaxy for the Imperium.
Yet now, they had been so easily defeated by people like them, who had only become Space Marines a few years ago. Although the Astartes Space Marines were more skilled than Nack and the others in close combat,
Nack and his men were Star Space Marines with better and more refined equipment, greater speed, and greater strength. Defeat had been their only possible outcome.
They could not help but marvel inwardly at the might of the Lord of the Stars. In just ten years, he had utterly transformed refugees like them, who had struggled to survive in the Underhive, into Space Marines even stronger than Astartes Space Marines.
