Red Sun was merely an official term.

In his memories, Red Suns existed on Superman's homeworld, Krypton. They were enormous stars that gave off red light, and under their rays, Kryptonians were physically little different from ordinary humans.

Then why did Kryptonians become invulnerable, gain Cyclops-like heat vision, and even awaken Bio-Fields after coming to Earth?

That had to begin with Kryptonian physiology. Kryptonians were a race born with superpowers, something evident from the legends of EAO, the god of Krypton. However, unlike other superhumans, Kryptonian superpowers evolved according to stellar radiation.

In other words, when they were exposed to stars with immense energy, their bodies absorbed that radiation and immediately converted it into powerful energy, supplying the superpowers encoded in their genes and awakening abilities they already possessed.

Sadly, the sun within Krypton's star system was a Red Sun. It was an aging star, far more massive than most others. Whether it was a red giant or a red supergiant, one thing was certain: it no longer possessed much energy.

And how could a sun nearing the end of its "life" provide energy to Krypton's people? Thus, under Red Sun radiation, Krypton as a whole—including the Kryptonians—was affected by that radiation and became a planet inhabited by a race without superpowers.

Not only that, after absorbing radiation for countless years, Krypton itself carried traces of Red Sun radiation. So after Krypton's destruction, the so-called "Kryptonite" scattered everywhere was, at its root, merely material carrying Red Sun radiation.

On the other side of the universe, the sun in Earth's Solar System was a main-sequence yellow dwarf. Though it had existed for a long time, compared to other stars, this Yellow Sun was in the prime of its life. The energy it emitted was immense.

Unlike Earth's lifeforms, which had been exposed to that energy from the very beginning, Kryptonians who arrived here had the superpower genes in their bodies instantly activated by that massive radiation. Those powers then awakened gradually according to sequence, granting them the strength already contained within their genes.

That was why Kryptonians became so-called "Supermen" on Earth. As for why they feared Kryptonite, it was simply because they could not withstand the Red Sun radiation it carried. Red Sun radiation could temporarily override Yellow Sun radiation, reducing their enhanced bodies to a state without energy once more.

But Zhang Ye remembered several instances in the comics where Superman had endured Kryptonite head-on. Though that was related to Superman's own origin and EAO, the god of Krypton, it had to be said that a Red Sun was only one method for dealing with Kryptonians, not a guaranteed killing blow.

To most people, Red Suns and Yellow Suns were more like switches for Superman's powers. But Zhang Ye knew that besides those two kinds of stars, Blue Suns, neutron stars, and even celestial bodies such as Quasars that carried immense radiation could greatly strengthen Kryptonians, leaving them with almost no weaknesses.

Still, that existed only in the descriptions of certain comics. Zhang Ye was not sure whether those things could truly serve as a basis for judging Kryptonians in the future. After all, Kryptonian physiology differed from universe to universe. Some Kryptonians even lost their superpowers when exposed to a Yellow Sun.

That was what worried Zhang Ye. He could not guarantee that all his judgments were correct, and the best way to resolve the matter before him was to test things personally as much as possible.

"I have detected 32,597 stars matching your description of a 'Red Sun.' Would you like me to conduct a more detailed scan?" Miss Minutes had taken a long time with this scan, but she had indeed produced results that satisfied Zhang Ye.

"Continue refining the classification. I need to find a planet beneath Red Sun radiation whose mass, gravity, climate, temperature, and even ecology are similar to Earth's," Zhang Ye said quickly.

Although planets seemed much the same in various films and television shows, the truth was that every planet was an entirely different individual. Zhang Ye himself was just an ordinary human. If he rashly went to an unknown planet, death would be his only outcome.

If the ecosystem there differed even slightly from Earth's, the air itself could be "poisonous" to Zhang Ye.

Zhang Ye waited quietly. He had thought Miss Minutes would take even longer this time, but in fact, only a few minutes passed before she presented dozens of options.

That was perhaps where the Time Twister's power lay. Its time-travel function allowed Zhang Ye to travel to any point in time since that universe's birth, and among that utterly incalculable expanse of time, there were simply too many planets that met his requirements.

Had Zhang Ye not stipulated that they needed to be as close to Earth as possible, Miss Minutes could have listed several hundred more suitable planets.

In the end, Zhang Ye selected a planet whose land covered two-thirds of its total surface as the best option. He had not chosen it for any particular reason; he simply found the shape of the planet pleasing to the eye.

It was perfectly suited to serve as General Zod's tomb.

"Would you like to mark the target node to facilitate spatial travel?"

"Yes." Zhang Ye nodded.

Miss Minutes spoke again. "Would you like to name it?"

"Name it?" Zhang Ye paused. Looking at the enormous database, he suddenly realized that he really should name and categorize them, which would make future searches more convenient.

After giving it some thought, Zhang Ye said, "Name the previous universe the Ruined Universe, and name the target node we just detected Zod's Tomb."

Then Zhang Ye remembered something else and continued, "Also, change the designation of the universe I am currently in to Flashpoint-1 Universe, and record my current time node as the World Engine."

"Understood. The Ruined Universe and Flashpoint-1 Universe have been named. All records are currently being consolidated. Would you like to initiate spatial travel now?" Miss Minutes sounded somewhat impatient.

Zhang Ye shook his head at that. "Wait a moment. First, you need to send me back."

"Understood."

As Miss Minutes's voice fell, Zhang Ye was suddenly struck by a sensation of weightlessness. He only had time to glance back at the Morningstar Giant, still being corroded by pollution, as if he wanted to etch it deeply into his mind.

The next moment, Zhang Ye's body jolted violently, and the surroundings returned to the Batcave.
