Once the Purifying Lotus Demon Flame's slave mark was removed, Xiao Chen regained his senses. At last, a flicker of life returned to his deathly pale face.

"He came to his senses already?" Xiao Meng was taken aback. The enslavement contract between them had not even been lifted yet. But then he understood. Xiao Chen immediately noticed the others. But when he looked at Xiao Meng, he froze. His brows drew tight, pain crossing his face as though he were struggling against something.

"M-Master." Xiao Chen shuddered. His expression instantly calmed, and his murky eyes seemed to clear. Then he bowed to Xiao Meng.

"Ancestor, not again!"

Xiao Meng hurriedly stood and moved aside. "Don't move. I'll remove the enslavement contract inside you."

Xiao Meng bit his finger and drew a strange symbol on Xiao Chen's forehead with his blood. He chanted an incantation, and the symbol blazed with dazzling light before suddenly sinking between Xiao Chen's brows.

Xiao Chen closed his eyes instinctively. When the light on his forehead vanished, he opened them, looking stunned and utterly bewildered.

Seeing him stand there in a daze, Xiao Meng waved a hand before his eyes. "Hey! Ancestor, come back to us!"

"A-Ancestor?"

Xiao Chen snapped out of it and looked at Xiao Meng. "Who are you? How were you able to control me just now?"

"I'm from the Xiao Clan of the Xiao Tribe. To get you out of the Purifying Lotus Demon Flame, I had to place an enslavement spell on you and take control. That way, we could avoid unnecessary trouble," Xiao
