Borrowing Heads

The gateway formed by two grayish-brown stone mountains stood towering and immense, hard and ancient. No one knew how many years it had stood here.

There were countless creatures outside the gateway, all kinds of them: Golden Giant Birds, creatures resembling Hou, Pixiu, Suanni, as well as descendants of ancient human clans, experts from the Pure Land, and royalty from ancient kingdoms.

Yet they all paced back and forth outside, unable to decide whether to enter the gateway.
