Sirius took a deep breath, seemingly weighing how to begin.
After a long while, he finally said to Silan, "Give me the Veritaserum."
To make Harry believe him, Sirius had asked Silan to prepare Veritaserum in advance.
Silan nodded, took the Veritaserum out of the Ring, and handed it to Sirius.
Although the Ministry of Magic strictly regulated this potion and prohibited its misuse, it was not actually particularly complicated to make. At Sirius's request, Silan had secretly brewed a bottle.

"Veritaserum is colorless and odorless, almost indistinguishable from plain water," Sirius told Harry. "But just three drops of this potion are enough to make the drinker reveal their deepest secrets to whoever questions them."
"I'm doing this to show you that nothing I say from this point onward is a lie."
As he spoke, Sirius drank half the bottle of Veritaserum, then set the remaining half on the table in front of Harry. "You can keep this half to verify that the Veritaserum is genuine."
Harry nodded silently.
He had heard of Veritaserum. After drinking this potion, a person would involuntarily tell the truth when questioned.
"You can ask now." Sirius gazed at Harry, his eyelids twitching.
