Background / History

At nineteen, Selene lost her parents and was taken in by Victor, one of the Coven's ruling Elders. Victor transformed her into a second-generation Vampire, sealed her memories with Mind Shackles, and convinced her that Werewolves had murdered her family. For more than six centuries, Selene served the actual killer of her parents as his loyal Death Dealer. 82 87

Driven by the revenge Victor had manufactured for her, Selene became a feared Werewolf hunter. Her long campaign with silver-bullet pistols and a cross-shaped sword earned her the title of the Moon Goddess. 82

Selene secretly boarded Carl's ship while hiding inside a cardboard box. Carl identified both her and Victor's mental seal, seeing an opportunity to recruit a high-prestige Vampire agent. 80 After confining and testing her, he ordered her to obtain 20 milliliters of Elder Amelia's blood within a month in exchange for the truth about her parents. 82

Although delayed by attacks from the Blood God Cult and Blade, Selene delivered Amelia's blood sample. Carl then revealed Victor's betrayal: he had murdered her parents, altered her memories, and used her resemblance to his late daughter as the reason to spare and transform her. Selene swore loyalty to Carl as her new king and demanded only the chance to kill Victor herself. 87

Carl later gave Selene Evolution Blood, freeing her from Victor's bloodline suppression and allowing her to withstand sunlight. She helped Warp Group seize control of the Coven, retrieve Marcus's golden coffin, and confront Victor. 88 90 During their duel, she awakened Psionic Sonic Scream, killed Victor, and finally avenged her parents. 92

Appearance

Selene has a youthful appearance fixed at the age of nineteen despite being over six centuries old. She is commonly associated with black leather clothing and an austere, cold beauty. 82 188

  • Ice-blue, catlike eyes. 82 88
  • Snow-white complexion. 188
  • Exceptional flexibility; she can fold her body into a small cardboard box to conceal herself. 80
  • Usually carries an ornate cross-shaped longsword. 137
  • Has a purple eight-pointed Warp rune appear on her forehead while channeling psionic power. 92 402

Personality

Selene is disciplined, proud, and intensely purposeful. Her original identity was built around vengeance against Werewolves and loyalty to Victor; learning that Victor had deceived her for six centuries shattered that foundation but redirected her devotion toward Carl. 82 87 92

As Coven leader, she is coldly pragmatic. She spared surviving Vampire nobles not out of mercy, but because their social access made them useful intelligence assets. 90 She is also willing to use intimidation, mental coercion, and lethal force to complete Warp Group missions. 137 138 181

Her loyalty to Carl is absolute: she follows his orders without demanding explanations, treats his commands as divine decree, and repeatedly seeks to prove the Coven's value to his organization. 146 169

Abilities & Skills

Vampire Physiology

Selene possesses the strength, speed, durability, healing, senses, and flexibility of a high-ranking Vampire.

  • Healed a gunshot wound through her waist after being attacked by Blade and the Blood God Cult. 87
  • Can move with sufficient speed to kill armed guards before they can react or fire. 138
  • Originally suffered from Vampire hunger and sunlight vulnerability. 82
  • Carl's Evolution Blood removed her sunlight weakness and broke Victor's bloodline suppression. 88 90

Death Dealer Combat Training

Selene spent centuries fighting Werewolves as Victor's foremost Death Dealer.

  • Master of the cross-shaped longsword; she cut through a Werewolf pack in a single high-speed pass. 137
  • Highly skilled with dual silver-bullet pistols. 82 90
  • Her firearms expertise was developed through more than a century of training, though she considers Frank Castle's natural marksmanship superior to hers. 90
  • Victor's familiarity with the techniques he taught her initially allowed him to predict and counter her movements. 92

Hypnosis and Psychological Suggestion

After receiving Evolution Blood, Selene awakened potent mental-control abilities.

  • Can induce hypnosis through eye contact and voice. 90
  • Erased the memories of human hostages, making them believe they had merely fallen asleep in a park. 90
  • Coerced Andreas Tanis into revealing information about Lucian, Alexander Corvinus, and the keys connected to the Vampire and Werewolf progenitors. 137
  • Her Psionic Obedience Spell is unreliable: when used on three Werewolves, it triggered a Slaanesh Chaos effect and fused them into an abomination. 138

Psionic Sonic Scream

Selene channels Slaanesh-infused psionic power through a devastating scream.

  • First manifested during her duel with Victor, shattering his sword and blowing off his sword arm. 92
  • The initial activation left her severely weakened after Victor's death. 92
  • Is especially destructive against Symbiotes; the scream stripped them from their hosts and restrained them in place for incineration. 402
  • Its wide-area effect can cover an entire enclosed battlefield. 402
