"Boss! They told us to slow down!"
Inside the control room, where steam billowed, pipes rumbled, and parts clinked, a Mek hammering at the controls looked up.
"They're about to fall behind!"
"Shut it! I ain't waiting for those gits! I'm Toofstabber! My Stabba Gargant never needs them to tell it what to do!"
The Big Mek of Mork Gargant Toofstabber spat, then yanked hard on the seventeenth lever to his left. His mechanical eye seemed to burn, while neither his hands nor feet stopped moving for even a moment.
Using mechanical instruments to control such an enormous machine would have struck any human engineer as foolish and—
"Boss, boss, um... don't go wandering around down there. You nearly stepped on the Scrap Pig Gang's boss again..."
Toofstabber ignored that rambling reply. Leaning forward, he bellowed into the speaker.
"Lazy Jumpy! Get to work!"
"Y-yes, Boss! I definitely wasn't slacking off! At least, not just now..."
The massive cannon on Mork Gargant's shoulder thundered. Toofstabber pressed his face to the observation device and saw the shell explode slightly off target, yet still swallow them all.
"Good! Keep going!"
Earth heaved upward as Mork Gargant advanced, while metal fragments and scraps of leather clattered down.
Three more steps brought Mork Gargant above the remaining human troops.
As the energy shield passed over them, they raised their weapons one after another, and another artillery barrage descended.
Boom! Boom! Boom~~!
The splashing blast waves melted away a layer of plating and struck the thick metal hide directly, gouging huge chunks of gleaming metal from the armor, but failing to penetrate it.
Mork Gargant's foot came down on a Shield Guard tank, and Toofstabber felt it buckle through the upper structure.
"Crush you Shrimp! Ohoho! Waaagh!!!"
Toofstabber roared excitedly, and Mork Gargant roared along
