At this unexpectedly easy entry, no reaction showed on his dark green face. If not for the slow chill of fear spreading through the Kommando boss's body as the sealed door opened, it would have seemed utterly ridiculous.

He raised his blades in both hands and assumed a defensive stance.

He knew there were no bullets left in his gun. Every round had been spent on the scum. During the complete capture of the wastewater treatment plant, they had encountered resistance beyond imagination.

He had originally thought the mission was over, but Kundraka had ordered them to enter the treatment plant's previously sealed pipes first and clear a passable route. As for where that route led, Kundraka offered no explanation.

An extra mission meant greater risks. Ur did not want to take such risks. He was not an arrogant boy, but the price offered was impossible to refuse.

A fully modified armored truck would give their warband a perfect mobile base.

At first, he had assumed these pitch-black concrete tunnels would be full of trouble. Yet so far, they had not encountered a single enemy.

Everything appeared to be going smoothly, yet the unease emanating from deep within the pipes could not be ignored.

Something inhuman seemed to be watching him from that impenetrable darkness. Ur trusted his instincts—or perhaps his intuition.

"This place is really weird."

He sniffed the air, catching the stench of rotten wood and decaying leaves. Warily, he switched on the searchlight mounted on his shoulder. The other boys followed suit, driving back some of the thick darkness.
