The battle in Shadow City was at its fiercest when, just as Uquett prepared to deliver a crushing blow to the enemy, something bizarre happened.

The palace guards in deep purple armor actually took flight!

White-hot arcs of energy swirled around them as they leaped over the heads of the advancing Ork horde, extending gleaming leaf-shaped blades from their wrists and slashing downward.

Uquett felt a fierce gust descend upon him and instinctively rolled aside, dodging a flurry of flashing blades. Still, more than a dozen warriors beside him were beheaded in an instant.

The charged blades sliced through their armor with ease.

"What kind of weird shrimp are these?"

He slid into the water and found that it only came up to his waist.

Overhead, the heavy machine guns that had previously been concealed began pouring fury upon the Orks flooding into the palace. But the boys kept advancing, firing blindly with their usual lack of organization. Even the palace guards' strange appearance failed to disrupt their usual way of fighting.

Bang!

Suddenly, a corpse fell into the water beside Uquett, its head blown away. Blood poured into the water, blooming into a scarlet flower.

The Ork boss saw that the guards were too fast and turned too sharply for conventional tactics to threaten them.

So he could only resort to some unconventional methods.

Just then, a guard shrieked as he dove toward him. Uquett could make out the intricate patterns on the man's armor, the tiny golden lines like veins across his breastplate and greaves, and the inscriptions on his mask.

The guard glided down like a seabird, firing a bright blade from his wrist.

And the sound he made resembled some nocturnal predator hunting, as though confirming one of Uquett's suspicions.
