Generally speaking, thick armor made of pure metal could turn a person into a tank, but such formidable protection came at the cost of speed.
But Guk was no ordinary living creature. The power contained within his flesh had already surpassed the limits of physical law; even clad in such heavy armor, he was nearly as agile as any assassin.
But at a life-or-death moment, "nearly" was not enough.
Bruce's life hung on a split second, and he seized that opportunity with precision, evading the fatal blow.
"You won't be so lucky next time!"
Guk halted, turned, and charged back into the hall headfirst. In an instant, shattered stone rained down, coating his towering helmet in gray-white dust and powder.
Guk crashed back into the hall, passing beneath a low-hanging archway that bore the weight of magnificent marble statues above.
With no room left to dodge, Bruce suddenly struck one of the archway's supporting pillars with all his strength.
The pillar, already riddled with cracks, immediately collapsed into pieces.
The dome, which had long been on the verge of collapse, could no longer endure the blow. Guk looked up just in time to see enormous slabs of stone falling. Unable to evade them, he was crushed beneath the full weight of the dome, and the entire hall was instantly filled with billowing clouds of dust.
Bruce panted heavily, but as he turned his head, he saw a sight that made his blood rush.
The last Shadow Blade knelt on the ground, blood dripping from him like rain. His limbs were shattered beyond recognition, while the Court Guards around him stared on impassively.
Each of them had gained several helmeted heads.
Before that Shadow Blade, Kundraka raised his battle axe high, about to deliver the killing blow.
Just as Bruce was
