Ordinarily, the additional armor plates mounted on the front of an Ork mech were enough to withstand the concentrated fire of most human weapons and carry it to the front lines. Its rear supports, however, were not so fortunate.

The construction of Ork mechs was relatively crude, after all. Especially on the rear, investing resources was something many mechanics found inconceivable, because these weapons had been designed to attack, not to turn their backs on the enemy.

But now, under the Wanderer's ferocious assault, its rear supports bent and snapped.

Alexei found himself laughing through the pain, imagining a whole crowd of Greenskins trapped inside the mech, crushed beneath their own armor.

He calmly controlled the mech, driving his left fist forward. The Wanderer mirrored the movement at once, plunging its sword into the Ork mech's already collapsed core.

The difference in their construction was obvious at a glance.

It could not withstand the fury of human weapons. It could not defeat the Wanderer.

Alexei felt the sword's high-frequency field tear through the enemy mech's interior, shredding metal and then flesh.

The Ork mech's sawblade trembled to a halt as it lost power. Ammunition inside detonated, blasting open the mech's back and tearing apart its metal spine and central shaft.

Then the mech's bucket-like jaw opened, as if issuing one final Greenskin roar, but no sound came out.

The Gork Gargant did not fall backward, though its structure was no longer intact.

With a thought from Alexei, the Wanderer lifted it and hurled it toward Guk, sending it arcing through the air on a bloody trajectory.

With a thunderous crash, it smashed into the right side of the racetrack. Stone shattered, metal bent like thin sheets, and the racetrack—already reduced to ruins—became an even larger heap of wreckage.
