Giant War (VII)

"Waaaaagh!!!!"

Guk raised his warhammer high and hurtled toward the Ghost Spider as it skidded along trailing thick smoke, like a falling meteor. It was his first time trying one of the Stormboyz' tactics.

Though he was not used to it, he had to admit that it was incredibly thrilling.

"Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!!!"

The pressure brought by the fierce wind and G-forces made Guk roar even louder, and the guards around him answered in kind.

Then the Ghost Spider reacted.

Most of its weapons had already failed, but it still had other reserves. As hatches along its waist opened, swarms of small defensive machines poured out. Humming low, they charged at Guk like an enraged cloud of bees.

A dense barrage shot several of them down before they could reach their target. Guk left those things to his guards and charged the six-legged machine without hesitation.

"Die for me!!!!!!"

Roaring, Guk leaped upward on a trail of exhaust and caught up with the Ghost Spider above its head. Ignoring the small machines drilling and slashing at his armor with Razor blades, he drove his arc-sparking hammer straight for its head.

The Ghost Spider swung one intact arm at Guk in a wide arc. He rolled through the air to evade the blow, but it also altered his direction of travel.

Taking advantage of Guk's landing, the Ghost Spider retreated toward the edge of the river valley. A pale halo began gathering beneath it.

"Don't think you're getting away!!!"

The instant he landed, Guk disengaged his rocket pack. He swung his hammer at it, but his enemy vanished in a flash, and his weapon struck only air.

When he realized it was far faster than he had estimated, he let out a frustrated roar.
