Just as Guk was getting into the slaughter, a rocket suddenly shot out and struck a nearby bunker belching flames. By sheer luck, it went straight through the firing slit, incinerating the bunker and the soldiers inside from within.

He turned and saw that the main force of the Guards had already surged onto humanity's final line of defense, forming an unstoppable assault.

Clearly, victory was only a matter of time.

"That was way too fast!"

With a hearty laugh, Guk flung several soldiers aside, tossing them into the burning wreckage. Their bones shattered with a satisfying crack.

Lightning danced across the human lines, blasting apart the bodies beneath their armor.

Shrieking flames melted the earth, while the force-field shield around Guk absorbed most of the enemy's return fire.

The sight of the Guards fighting without restraint made Guk laugh. They had been constantly following at his side before, so they had not had many chances to fight. Now, nothing was holding them back. Perhaps this was only a warm-up, but there was enough blood to let him

cool them down.

"Hm?"

Suddenly, a chill ran through Guk, putting him instantly on alert. Somewhere deep in his mind, he sensed a ghostly touch.

He had felt this sensation before, but before he could recall where, a massive two-headed wolf burst through the flames and pounced.

Its fur was burning, and Guk raised his arm, intending to fling it away with a gesture.

But nothing happened.

The two-headed wolf lunged forward and knocked him to the ground, catching Guk off guard with its immense strength.

Awooo!

With a savage howl, it bit down, somehow ignoring the energy field around Guk. Its fangs carved deep scratches into his helmet, while its yellowed claws tore at his side.
