At first, their plan seemed blessed by the gods. With the same satisfying suddenness as the swimming lesson they had given the Greenskins days earlier, the soldiers swiftly and fiercely broke through the outer perimeter.
As the off-road vehicles passed the charred wreckage of destroyed Greenskin carts, the regulars' cheers drowned out even the roar of the poorly functioning engines, nearly swallowing every other sound around them.
"Assault teams, prepare."
Jackson, observing the battle from a safe distance, issued the order through his communicator.
He had grown accustomed to following the battle closely through binoculars, so despite the risk of being hit by stray bullets, he could not suppress the urge to see for himself what the reports had failed to mention.
"We're in!"
Before long, an assault squad sent back good news. Though Mount Mishil's defenders had retreated, they were no beaten army. On the contrary, they could be considered among the Imperium's finest forces.
Every soldier burned with hatred for the Greenskins and possessed well-honed combat skills.
"Received. Keep advancing."
Jackson switched frequencies and coordinated the commanders of the other units as they launched the main assault on the defensive positions.
Trucks carrying mortars stopped by the roadside, preparing to strike the targets from afar and divert their attention before the other infantry squads overran them. A small number of cavalry units stood ready to attack from the flanks, already charging down enemies rushing from the nearby high ground to reinforce them.

Boom! Boom! Boom!
Not long after, as red signal flares rose into the sky, the main assault began.
The warehouse walls gradually emerged before the charging troops. Once the attack order was given, soldiers who had crawled close beforehand leaped up and broke through the outer fortifications in one stroke, catching the late-arriving Greenskins completely
