Others were cleaved in two by the savage blows of the warhammer. Blood sprayed from severed torsos and limbs, while bodies shattered on impact, scattering countless splintered bones like handfuls of coins tossed across the roadside with a clatter.

Alan stared, dumbfounded. He had never imagined that enemies so deadly before could be as helpless as children before a giant.

Bodies spun past his shoulders like great bundles of hay tossed into the air with a pitchfork.

Before long, the roadside was carpeted with corpses.
