"Another one!"
The gunner called out again, but Richthofen paid it no mind. He was climbing and was now almost above the enemy plane, while still having to dodge the bullets frantically fired from its rear-mounted machine gun.
He had placed himself in the flight path between the enemy plane above and the one below, preventing the attacker above from diving immediately. It intended to adjust its attitude and dive along a path that would not harm its ally.
That gave Richthofen an opportunity.
"Take him down!"
Richthofen opened fire decisively. Armor-piercing incendiary rounds from his 23mm cannon tore through the attacker's center, sending thick smoke billowing from its engine compartment.
The aircraft immediately flew about blindly like a headless fly before vanishing from sight.
"It's coming!"
"Looks like we really pissed it off."
The attacker with the black tail came at them again. Richthofen swiftly performed a horizontal turning maneuver, evading its strafing fire.
The battle was not going favorably for the Orks. Though they had arrived suddenly, their earlier excessive use of engine boost had caused engine failure rates to soar once the fighting became intense, or left them unable to use boost at all.
Once the attackers could not pull away from low altitude in time, the Gray Eagles would rapidly latch onto them like venomous insects, relentlessly tangling with these somewhat clumsy flying tanks.
"Boss! Another one blew up!"
"Who?"
"Spikehead!"
"Well... he wasn't the first this time."
"Killer got hit too! His plane's on fire!"
"Damn it!"
Wazgub slammed the instrument panel in frustration. This was not how he had imagined things would go.
Since the battle began, his wing had already lost six fighters, while Shrimp's side had only lost two. Those losses were not terrible, but for him right now, they were absolutely
